How Stupid they are. Pearl has brought light to what was a dark program while Fulmer was taking us down the toilet. Those people close to Fulmer are either incredibly dense or men with no balls, who feel the need to act liked scorned women (if I've offended any women with balls with my last comment, I sincerely apologize.....:kngt:

More "misery loves company" from the University of Fulmer fans.
They aren't UT fans that for sure.

I read half of that piece of work late last night but couldn't finish it because I had already thrown up twice in my mouth. Pearl inherited a nightmare and has won, what 90+ games, in less than 4 years. NCAA bids every year. SEC title. Fulmer inherited a Top 10 program, made a nice 6-8 year run, and then got lazy and complacent. His argument doesn't even pass the smell test. Pennington is nothing but a shit stirrer - Pure and simple. I will give him this though: If Pearl had two losing seasons out of the next four and didn't make the NIT tournament (which is the equivalent of Fulmer not even getting a Music City Bowl bid with two losing seasons), I'd say his ass would be hot as hell. But Pearl is going to have his boys playing next week for another SEC East title, and very well could have punched his 4th straight NCAA tourney bid today...
Next time Pennington and his anonymous email sender might want to compare apples to apples. Based solely on Pennington's history, however, I'd say the email didn't even exist.

Hell, I must have read it different than ya'll. I thought he did a pretty good job of explaining the differences in how the Fulmerites want Pearl treated, but how he should actually be treated. It looks to me just like a good post from this place, ie, difference in programs when they took over, the last few season's results, judging the trend instead of a single season.
Pennington is by far the best sports guy in Knoxville.

I agree, Pennington actually put the Philistines in their place. Which is a very insecure and stupid place, but their place nevertheless.

Here is my problem with Pennington in the article:
"It’s completely fair to wonder if UT’s athletic director will judge his hires as he judged the coaches he inherited. My guess is, in the long run, he probably won’t.
New bosses usually bring in their own people when they see a job performance issue. It’s human nature. Hamilton inherited Fulmer, Buzz Peterson and Rod Delmonico in the Big Three sports. They’re all gone.
It’s also human nature to protect one’s self. Pearl, Lane Kiffin, and Todd Raleigh are now connected to Hamilton. He needs for them to do well. I’m guessing he’ll give them all the support that they need to succeed. It’s his tail if they don’t. So I would expect him to have a slow hook."
Pennington stated that Hamilton won't judge the coaches he inherited the same as the coaches he has hired. BULLSHIT!!! Like I said earlier, if Pearl has two losing seasons out of the next four, I guarantee you that he will be on the hot seat!!!
Pennington then goes on to say that Hamilton will give Raleigh, Kiffin, and Pearl all the support that they need to succeed and he expects him to have a "slow hook". Again, I say BULLSHIT!!! Pennington is implying that Hamilton didn't give Fulmer the support that he needed to succeed. If anything, he had a "slow hook" on Fulmer!!!
But my main thing with the entire article is that I honestly do not think the infamous "email" even exists. Slow news day and the deadline for a Sunday article was coming up. While I tend to never underestimate the stupidity of some people, comparing Pearl vs. Fulmer right now are simply ridiculous!!

Pennington butt-fucked the University of Fulmer fans and for that he receives a standing ovation for a well written column.:ura1:

This year is a down year by Pearl's standards but had Fulmer had the equivalent year in football he would have gotten an automatic raise and an automatic contract extension and this question wouldn't have even come up.
And what's with this "one bad year" in regard to Fulmer? One bad year? How about one bad decade and yes that includes 2007 when we backed into (i.e. not earned) a trip to the SECC game.

Who gives a flying f*** what Fulmer supporters say. To write a KNS article about it, and giving them idiots attention is behing ignorant on Penningtons part. I give John credit for being objective over the years, but this was by far, his worse article ever. I just don't get it.
