Guys, I picked Mississippi State to go 1-11 prior to the end of the year. 9 weeks in, Dan Mullen has to have consideration for SEC Coach of the Year. They are 4-5 to date with an off week Saturday and much like us, they have played some close games that they could have easily won. But I have watched them play and they are well-coached, disciplined, and are getting a lot out of what they have to work with.
Bama gets LSU this weekend and win or lose, that will take a lot out of them. Bama got more than that wanted from SC and from Tennessee. The LSU game will be another hard fought battle.
They have to go to Mississippi State next week. IMO, Bama appears to be flat-lining or getting slightly worse. It will be interesting to see if they look any fresher this week since they were "tired." But this game at MSU is setting up to be a trap game for Bama. I'm calling for the Bulldogs to shock the world in two weeks.

I watched the LSU MSU game, and MSU darn near beat them.
At the time I thought that said more about LSU, but you might be right, MSU may be better that they are given credit for.

Mullen's absence has to be one reason UF and Tebow has struggled this year. Mullen was a grad asst. to Urb when he got his first HC gig at Bowling Green, and he went around with Urb and helped research different spread offenses and was one of the coaches who helped Urb put their version of the spread together.

As Rich Rodriguez was to Tommy Bowden. The offensive genius behind the scenes, who's departure ultimately sealed the doom of his more famous mentor. And the coach who went on to greater glory after leaving his more famous mentor.
I like it.

I agree, I think he should be considered for SEC coach of the year along with ours. If you watch MSU play this year and last year it's not even close. You can actualy watch a MSU game this year and enjoy it. The past few years they were horrible and boring to watch.

I have always disliked the 1840's time warp that is Ole Missy Pissy. They now have the worlds best cheerleader as HC in Nutthead who can't recruit and is only a fair HC. The Weebels still have UT, LSU, and MSU to play. This Preseason Top 10 team will struggle to be 7-5 or 6-6 IMO.

Dixon is a load and Mullen is a good coach. I guess it is possible. He is the guy that I think might end up replacing Richt. If he has any success in Starkville, the big schools will come calling.
