The original bailout bill for AIG, containing the provisions that pre-existing contracts, such as bonuses for employees couldn't be voided, was written by George W. Bush's Treasury Secretary, Paulson, and voted into law last October, and supported by Minority leader Boehner and a large number of Republicans in Congress.
The Stimulus bill passed by Obama's Administration this year, attempted to strip those "bonus contract" stipulations out of the prior bailout bill, but was taken out of the law in conference committee, because Republican Senators refused to support the bill if such language preventing bonuses (written and inserted into the Stimulus bill by Senator Dodd) was left in the bill.
It was Bush's bill, supported by Republicans which enabled AIG to give millions in bonuses to their employees who were losers. It was Obama and the Democrats who attempted to stop this absurd reward and entitlement system. It was Congressional Republicans and in particular Senate Republicans who prevented Democrats from stopping these bonuses with new legislation from President Obama.
Republicans are 100% to blame for this fiasco.

About the best response to a particular poster and his liberal, marxist leanings it that he must be employed by one of the crooks residing on capitol hill. he was probably involved in writing the stimulus bill that was approved by all the democrats and three republicans that was never read by the ones who voted on it. Not that it would have made any difference.
