Willis was an absolute buckstud at Ole Miss and nearly beat us with huge cast on his hand as I recall. He's equally terrorizing the pros under head coach Mike Singletary. Can someone remind me just how the hell he didn't end up at Tennessee? Didn't it have something to do with Phuckmer and D-Block Brooks. I forgot the story, but I remember it was discussed intensely.

The story I have always heard was the Phildo was, of course, a Recruiting Star Hound and D-Block Brooks was a 5* Recruit from Jackson. The Frito Bandito was, of course, one of the lazy assed recruiters on Phildo's staff who was assigned to Brooks. These 2 mental midgets then doubled down on Brooks recruiting by saying they would throw in The Tennis Playing QB Bo Hardegree who was the QB in Brooks team. Hardegree also just happened to be the High School Head Coach of both Brooks and his son.
So I think you get where I am going with this. It was a recruiting "Perfect Storm" where you had a 5* instate guy being recruited by the lazy Frito Bandito and Star Hound Fulmer. They had already basically "bought off" the high school HC by offerring his son (the QB) in a package deal.
Now here comes a guy playing at a small Class A school in Willis whose HC called up Frito Bandito and from what I have always heard, he simply wanted Frito Bandito to look at "filmum" of Willis and then consider coming to see him play. Well lazy assed Frito Bandito didn't even look at filmum and never even considered getting off his ass to go look at Willis. The rest is history and just sums up the managerial "skills" of Knoxville Phil and his Merry gents.
See if wagee can confirm all this.

#1 player in the state and supposedly the next Al Wilson, that would have been a "NO BRAINER" to let him go...Patrick Williis meanwhile, played at Class A Bruceton Hollowrock Central...where he was a running back and lb...He wanted to play for UT...but I think his grades were suspect...But Chavis never did look at the film or go see him play...Ole Miss took Willis and the rest is history...

He's such a humble, polite kid in addition to being the best linebacker in the NFL this year. I don't mean to sound like a queer or nothin' (from the movie Orgasmo), but it's hard not to pull for the Niners, except when they play my Colts later this season of course.

Maybe he should have take them both if he could have gotten them, but at the time noone in their right mind would have taken Willis over Brooks. It just didnt work out for us, I know the Chef told him he would do it again but I am sure he was just being kind.
