Story 0 Comments Font Size: KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Junior Brandon Warren has been suspended for the season, that according to a family member, but there is a possibility he could return for the bowl season if the Alcoa native meets certain criteria.
The family member did not go into specific details about what that criteria consists of, nor would he speculate on a reason why Warren is suspended.
During the Vols' 26-22 loss to Auburn, ESPN's Erin Andrews reported that Warren was "going off" on wide receivers coach Frank Wilson and had to be "separated from the group."
The University of Tennessee has not commented on this report. However, sources close to the squad told Sports Overtime's Mark Packer that Warren was not a part of the team's Monday meetings.
Since Lane Kiffin's arrival on the Tennessee campus, the junior wide receiver has been in and out of the head coach's doghouse. During the spring practice period, Warren even "lost" his number 1 jersey because he wasn't doing the things needed to keep the number. Kiffin has said that single digit numbers are special numbers to have.
This year, Warren has caught 7 passes for 54 yards and two touchdowns.
Warren was highly sought after recruit as a star tight end/defensive end at Alcoa High School. He originally signed with Florida State, but after his freshman year with the Seminoles, he transferred to Tennessee.
