Crompton is bad....however the dropped passes were equally worse. I thought your D played well, not great, but well. I'm sure the fast paced game played a big part of the D getting tired. But seriously, who is your strength and conditioning coach? The UT players looked winded after the 3rd or 4th possesion of the game.

Kiffin fired the first S & C coach, who he stole from Spurrier this summer and replaced him with Ogeron's former S & C coach from Ole Miss (and a UT alumni).

I'm not too worried about our conditioning. We have dominated all our opponents in the 4th quarter this year and will likely do the same to Bammer this year. If I recall, you guys faded like a fainting goat during almost every second half last year.

Did ya get that fixed yet?

"Equally worse"? Is that a Bamaism there Partsy?

Our D was exhausted because they were on the field most of the night and because AU does the no-huddle thing. I don't understand what happened with our WRs. Quentin Hancock acted like he had bet money on AU. I couldn't understand why he continued to be out there. The others weren't much better except for the fairly spectacular catch for a TD as the game ended. When that happened all I could think was WTF! How come that guy could make a great leaping catch in a crowd of DBs yet couldn't catch a ball that hit him in the hands with no coverage at all earlier in the game?

I tuned in late to the game....there was a big play by the UT offense on the opening play? Anyway, why didn't the staff try that same formation/play more? Sure the initial suprise would be lost, but still... why not try it again until it is defended properly?

It's the question 100,000 people have asked... I would have used the same formation again but had him throw it this time. Although in truth it would have probably been dropped.

I think he means that he missed that opening play where Nuke made the long run.

He had the game on early, but was jerking off to his saban life sized poster tacked to his ceiling.

No, in truth he's a liar. Let's see, he didnt tune in until late in the game, but asks why they looked winded after the 3rd or 4th possession.

Just 2 funny.

LON. suck it ho!

Yeah I tuned in late.....and yes I did say after 3rd or 4th possession the Vol D looked winded. You see, I don't have on the orange blinders and I don't think the sun rises and sets with kiffin and his AARP totin dad.
I know UT has depth issues and yes I realize auburn ran the no huddle offense which didn't allow UT to sub in D players. I was just suprised to see how winded they were with so much time left. (looked winded to me anyways)

no need to get your panties in a wad over a simple question/comment.

Parts our 4th quarter performance has been really good all year. Coming into the game I think there had only been 3 points scored in the 4th on us all year.

The defense may be wearing down some from attrition. A lot of guys out and a lot of guys banged up. I also thought we should have substituted more on the d-line but the no huddle may make that more difficult.

BTW, when I watched the game live I thought Teague had dropped a ball but when I watched the replay the linebacker had grabbed his arm. Auburn got away with a lot of holding all night long. Isaw one of their offensive linemen tackle our defensive end from behind on one play. No call.

We get fewer calls in our own stadium than any team in the country. Hell, they even re-write the rulebook when Florida comes ot play.

Uh, huh? The fuck does that ramble mean? I just wondered how you knew we were "winded" on their 4th possession, yet you didnt tune in until late in the game.

You gonna explain that one or deflect it with your lame attempt at humor?

I think it was a total surprise and worked great for that situation, but doubt they would have fooled the AU defense twice with that trick. Even if Nuke tried to pass it, he may be worse than JC:biggrin:

Also, Nuke needs a little more time in the weight room. Even if Kiff wanted to run that package a lot, I doubt Nuke would last very long.

I saw that one myself. It was just as you described. Totally flagrant. Something needs to be done about the officiating in the SEC. It's scandalous.

We held the ball almost the entire 4th quarter in comeback attempts against UCLA, Florida, and Auburn. We dominated the time of possession and yardage in the 4th quarter in all those games against quality opponents. In our other two games, it didn't matter as much as we had already buried WKY and had scrubs playing in the fourth quarter and had a comfortable lead over Ohio.

Do television and newspapers not make it deep into those piney woods of Texas? Can't you watch the Vols play? If you had you would be aware of our superior 4th quarter play this year and how much our conditioning has improved. That and few penalties are the most significant improvements thus far in the Kiffin era.

off the top of your head. I'm not interested in researching bammer stats.

I do know your team was terrible in the second half last year, the worst "undefeated" team in the second half of games I think I have ever seen.

I figured it would eventually catch up with you and did as you got beat bad in the last two games of the year.

If you haven't gotten that fixed, then you guys will collapse again this year, later in the season. Last year your fast starts in games hid that weakness. I figured your players were too young and lacked seasoning and needed more time in the weight room and in conditioning. I figured Saban would get that fixed with another year to work with those kids.

I also saw the shape your AA offensive tackle was in on the HBO show about the preseason of the Bengals. It was pitiful, he's a titty baby. Apparently he's blessed with lots of talent and a love for the buffet table.

I was late and missed the kick off = missed the long run = watched the game from roughly the 11 minute mark in qtr 1.

Now of course you know everything so I'm sure you'll disagree when I actually tuned in the game.

Sucking wind in the fourth quarter when Hardesty strolled by almost all of them on a touchdown run? They all had their hands on their hips for play after play and were dead tired.

That's because we went to the 2 minute offense. Any defense will get winded when you can't substitute and the offense is running plays in quick succession. We ran no huddle the entire 4th quarter and Auburn looked worse than we did on defense earlier in the game.
