year line team result
1981 -26 @USC USC 43 UT 7
1982 -24 @LSU UT 24 LSU 24
1982 -21 Alabama UT 35 Alabama 28
1989 -15 @UCLA UT 24- UCLA 6
2001 -17 @Florida UT 34 Florida 32
2004 -18 @Georgia UT 24 Ga 19
It's amazing how many of these types of games UT has won. I'm sure Alabama in 1981 were 20+ favorites and won. But other than USC & Bama in 1981 UT has won every game when they were decisive underdogs. I'm not sure what the line was in 1985 when UT beat Auburn. Probably 2 TDs anyway.

The 82 Alabama game is my most memorable, not a dry eye in the stadium.
I dont believe we were a 17 point dog in 2001, that was one of the best teams we ever had.

We were, watch the game again and you will hear Verne and Todd talk about it.

That's the only game I have ever bet on. We were in Vegas that weekend and I thought what the hell. Pretty sure we were double digit dogs at least. I could be wrong tho.

Just copy the shit over.
In the last 10 head-to-head meetings between UF and UT, the number has only been double digits once. Of course, that was the Vols’ epic 34-32 win at Florida (UT’s first win at Swamp since 1971) as 17 ½-point underdogs in 2001. That was Steve Spurrier’s last home game as head coach at Florida and sent UT to the SEC Championship Game because the game was pushed back to December due to the 9/11 trag
That was the last year of my stripper habit, dont remember it. I still cant figure out how two teams ranked in the Top 10 could be separated by so many fucking points?

What was the line when we went down to Miami and won 10-6 in 2003? We had to be pretty big dogs back then too.

I think some of this is due to our having a lot of talent that would normally underperform. Then when they would get motivated they could beat just about anyone. That is about the only good thing about not playing to your potential. When you finally do your fans can make a lot of money!:alc:

Top 10 teams are not normally separated by double digits. And if I am as funny as you are dumb then I must be one funny motherfucker.

digit spreads. There will be another this year. Its a "trend" ((-:
On another note the NFL rarely has double digit spreads but has had a few SB's go double digits (14 times) and they are much more evenly matched that many top 10 college games. But hey, what do I know. You figured out 100% of the "money" was on the over in the UT/FL game. Now that statement is fucking priceless.

The NFL quite frequently has double digit spreads during the regular season dumbass. Its not "rare" and you dont have a fucking clue what you're talking about.

Oh really, now you are the arbiter of defnitions? Less than 10% - RARE. OK, I dont buy that but now maybe you will entertain me with the number games in the last 5 or 10 years where the spread has been double digits. I'll wait. (cue Jeopardy theme) :rotfl:
RARE: it never happens. Shitworthvol

while not conclusive it is a "trend" of 120 games. 32 teams=16 games X 8 weeks=128 games. Subtracted 8 for open weeks. Guess what 13 out of 120 were double digit. Amazing huh? 10.8%

You can bet the Vikes -10 on the page I linked. Maybe thats your problem, you're just plain ignorant and arent aware of opportunities out there?

Florida was just unreal that year going into the UT. I think Spurrier knew he should have won the NC or at least played MIami for it. I think for the good of his alma matter he stepped down as coach after that game, feeling he'd done all he could for Florida. He loves his Gators too bad Clappy didn't feel the same for UT.

I remember seeing the line as high as 19 for the UF game in 2001. It is hard to believe, but when you consider it was Phildo in the swamp...well, you get the picture.
I remember the line was used by flubber (as was the gameday crew's felching of the Gaytors, which continues to this day) as a motivational tool...lord knows he couldn't do it by himself.

Yeah, it was kind of bizarre for the #4 team in the country to be a 17.5 point underdog against anyone. However Florida was crushing people that season and we weren't all that impressive. Two weeks prior we had almost lost to a Kentucky team that was absolutely terrible that season. It was Randyman and Taco's best called game of their careers, while Fulmer decided to go in cruise control mode for the remainder of his tenure.
