Out of all the major internet sites that are devoted to Tennessee, one and only one still has multiple posters who can't seem to remove their lips from the gigantic arse of His Lardness, the fired coach. Then we have to endure this ridiculous jibberish about new jobs and imaginary staffs being covertly assembled and worst of all, his continued refusal to accept full responsibility for the decline and crash of the Tennessee football program.

In Majors and Fulmer we have two coaches that got to the point that they thought they were bigger than the program itself! If thay had stayed humble and hungary and done their jobs with the talent and coaches they had in the primes of their tenures at the helm of Big Orange Football we would have had as many as another half dozen SEC Championships and at least another National Championship! It's always the "what might have been's" that keep the knawing in the belly thoughts alive over the years.

Hopefully with the Kiffin era, the Big Orange Nation won't have to endure the same fate as we had with men who both took the Big Orange to great heights, but failed to take us where the General did...which was long-term greatness!!

Your premise is incorrect. Namely, that "He is gone". The sad fact is that he isn't gone. Hardly a week goes by that he doesn't drop some sort of smart-ass remark on the press and not a day goes by without his tiny band of worshippers attacking his successor. Until he really DOES go away and his supporters - especially the prominent ones with access to radio and newspaper outlets - then people will not allow him and his supporters to continue to spread the Big Lie that he was a great coach who was unfairly fired, especially when they try to support that contention by unfairly blaming the blameless such as certain former assistants and players for Phat Phil's own failings while giving a pass to certain other assistants whose performance and behavior actually did help destroy Phat's career but whom he liked and therefore don't count.
