From ESPN.com
Georgia is likely to start sophomore quarterback Logan Gray against South Carolina on Saturday, a person familiar with the situation said Thursday.
Senior quarterback Joe Cox has an arm issue, the source said. Cox struggled in the first week, but that was in part due to his battle with the flu. Gray, 6-feet-2, 192 pounds, is a versatile athlete who has even been used as a punt returner. Georgia also has two freshman quarterbacks on its roster.
As much as I hate the Cocks, I would love to see the Dawgs start off 0-2.

Guys...How in the hell is USC gonna score? Their offense is putrid! I think UGA will win regardless. This is SOS's last season in football, IMO.

I think you're right. SC will have another mediocre year, except this year they won't beat us. I don't know what SC fan's expectations are, but I know they were higher than what SOS has delivered. He'll retire at the end of the year.

About an hour ago, I heard Buck Belue say on the radio that his source (Mike Bobo - OC?) tells him that Cox is not practicing at all - giving Gray all of the snaps with the Ones. Cox has a "tired shoulder" (maybe tendonitis in his shoulder?) and throwing irritates it. He'll probably ony throw on Saturdays the rest of the Fall.
This rumor got started because some website geek (UGAFootball.com) - who sounded like a complete idiot - came on and say that he saw Logan Gray running with the First Team, so he asked someone and confirmed that Gray would be the starter.
There is definitely QB trouble at this point in the season in Athens.

Gray was an All-State football and basketball player at Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Mo., and had a chance to play Division I basketball at schools like Creighton and Drake.
That's the least ringing endorsement I think I've read in the past year or two. Way to go, Low.

Mark Richt's press conference today regarding the job of Joe Cox- and the fact that it was his arm "injury" and not his play in Stillwater last week- was interrupted by a South Carolina congressman yelling, "you lie!".

When Houston Nutt had Dick at QB, every 11 year old boy (and everyone whose minds still works like that) couldn't help but giggle. (Which reminds me of Lewis Grizzard's famous headline about Georgia RB Happy Dicks.)
Heck, I am 43 and I still smirk whenever I hear about Vladimir Putin, or former Chinese leader Hu Yubang.

I said early this week off of both teams first games that this was going to be an ugly game offensively, even before the news on Cox. Both teams are going to struggle to find ways to manufacture points. I think a defensive touchdown or special teams score may win it. I'm pulling for the Cocks!
I love our chances against both of them and it could be ugly in both games! Kiffin will take no prisoners against either Reitch or Spurrier!
