on 104.5 The Zone in Nashville. I turned it on about 2 minutes into the show. But they didn't even talk about the UT game until about 30 minutes into an hour show. And they didn't really talk in depth about UT until they let a caller through who asked a specific question.

Keep in mind, this is the same show that Flummo is supposed to be on. But he wasn't on at that time (just came on now with 10 minutes left in the show). I'm pretty sure they are under a gag order with Flummo not to ask him anything UT.

Doug has questioned UT all offseason for a majority of each show. Now, it's funny how he's falling all over himself to give the Vols minimal airtime. Or so it seemed to me.

Make no mistake about it. Mathews shared an office with Fulmer at UT when they were both at the bottom of the coaching food chain.

He places his loyalty to Fulmer way above any he might have to UT although secretly, he knows that Fulmer was doing a piss poor job and had been for the last decade.

However, his loyalty to fulmer won't allow him to publicly say that on the radio which makes one question his professionalism as a radio broadcaster.

Nashville has the worst sports talk radio I have ever seen for a city its size. Blithering idiots all the time.

Has King toned down the anti-Kiffin bile & spleen?

I got tired of it and stopped listening to him at some point last Spring.

the times i have listened he's toned it down. i think he realizes that kiffin surrounded himself with great coaches.

...is the ONLY reason he's even on the radio. He doesn't have much to offer ....He seems a nice enough guy, But FUCK him.

BV2, I was listening to Brent Dougherty and his sidekick tool on 104.5 last night about 11:30 and heard a fellow named Barry call in. He dropped several phrases that were developed on OM--straight outta Crompton being one of them. That wouldn't have happened to have been you, would it?

You mean George "don't call me a fag or I'll hang up on you" Plaster? Yes he is still on. I suspect he and the station mgr must be butt buddies, there is no other explanation why he is still on.

Regarding Doug Mathews, I don't see his show lasting unless he gets on the Lane Train.

Clay Travis' show is on Tues. nights from 7-9. It's the best 2 hours of sports talk in middle TN. If only Clay would get rid of his co-host, Chad Witherow. Chad used the word "touche" out of context about 3 times in a 10 minute segment a couple weeks ago. You know Clay must have wanted to bust his ass on it. Maybe he doesn't have the clout yet at the radio station?

Yes, it was me. I'm sure I sounded terrible. I'm fighting off bronchitis, had 4 hours sleep the previous night, and had been going to school/working since 6:30 yesterday A.M.

I'm a friend of the show though and all those guys are good guys.

Matthews has been in the sporting goods business for years......Fulshit probably bought alot of jock-straps over the years to keep his balls from falling out and into the sheeps mouths.....

See volshit-chat for a list of names.:popc1:

BV2 you sounded fine and were pretty entertaining. I have listened to Brent since he was on WLAC with Duncan Stewart and Conn Hamlet, whose show I enjoyed listening to more than any other in Nashville.

This is utterly amazing to me. College football starting, UT gets off to a fast start, looks well organized and crisp in first game when everyone, well, you know what I mean, has their doubts about Kiffin...and they can't talk about him until a caller asks?

Shit, some entreprenuer in Nashville needs to sponsor a college football, UT-oriented host/show...they'd rack up. Put it on the big talker where multiple states can hear it...syndicate it if need be...yeah, it'd work.

I could be wrong, but they usually talk SEC when they are on together and top 25 some. Doug has the Vol show on Sundays at 10am cst where he talks all Vols for an hour. He is also on from 9-11am on Saturdays with TB where they talk SEC, mostly. On the Sunday show he has been very complimentary of Kiffin and what is going on up on the hill. I was surprised, too.

By the way, you are right, there are no UT questions for Fulmer.
