With no game in recent memory having a personal interest to me than my Alma Mater playing my favorite school in football, I eagerly anticipated this game with MANY local WKU friends coming to enjoy the Neyland experience. Of course, I had the added excitement of positive vibes before a season for the first time in years. With my step-sons off with their paternal grandparents and my daughter with a babysitter, my wife & I head to K-ville yesterday afternoon. About the time we unpacked in our room, we get a call from the grandparents: my 11 yr. old stepson emptied some model rocket engines into a small tin and lit it. It flashed and burned his face. The local ER immediately sent him the the Vandy Burn Unit and we re-packed the bags and headed to Nashville where we spent the night in his room. Burns weren't too bad and we were assured of a morning release allowing us to trek back to Kville. We shower and put our orange on and wait for the attending Dr. Well the attending Dr. that was to show at 8:00 am showed up about 9:30 and said it was ok to leave....right after an Opthamology consult. Well, said consult took another 5 hours to occur, during which the game was played (not on tv in the hospital) Long story short I get to listen to the post game show on the way home where I will now watch it on Tivo.
Sorry to post the longest paragraph of all-time, but, this was the damndest 24 hours I've had in a looong time!!
