Maybe "watermarks" in the corner would be ok much like some TV stations do. Some of them however are distracting as well (History Channel is too bold etc.)

How chessy. What a disgrace to Tennessee Football to put those ads up there on those great looking photos. Hamilton would sell his mother for an extra dime.

When we saw it last week, the spaces (now screens) hadn't been filled in and it looked modern and clean and spare.
Did y'all know why the message board on the side of Thompson Bowling Area has been dark for about a year? We found out when Pilot put a new gas costs sign up on Rutledge Pike and never turned it on. Seems that the city of Knoxpatch has a law against using that kind of sign (same at Pilot as at Thompson Bowling) to advertise anything for sale.
I will bet money that TPTB looked long and hard at the Knoxpatch law and saw this as a way around it.
When I look at it as a way of saying Up Yours to the multitude who mismanage Knoxpatch, it becomes more tolerable.

Fucking Terrible. Lose the ads and bring baack the V-O-L-S. They are all about that damn blocky font lately, I guess it looks ruff and tuff. Why can't we just put up something understated, yet classic...and classy?

Well hell I like it. I don't see anything wrong with it.
Some of ya'll need to get a fucking clue that all this shit you want 'em to spend money on actually costs money. Want 'em to buy out Fullllllllmer and bring in a top notch staff it takes money, but let's not create any more revenue streams to do it? Bullshit. We want to compete like it's 2010, but we want everything to stay like it's 1975. You don't want any ads then get ready to pay $200 for a ticket, plus donation. Gheez, you wanna play with the big boys that's the price you gotta pay.
Fuck it, gimme some black uni's too.

There are waysw to do things and ways not to do things. This is a classic example of how not to do it.
WTF are Florida's colors doing on the back of our stadium? It's almost like they WANT to piss everyone off.

UT does not buy the Jumbotron, they contract with a company that does-and the ads pay that company for their trouble. It costs UT nothing and brings in nothing.

It's a billboard, nothing more or nothing less. It sells products and services like all billboards. It detracts from the spirit of college football, but college football is all about money now. I would not be surprised to see a patch with the McDonald's logo sewn on the uniforms in the near future. jmo

White is to heavy a color for the posts and pulls the eye to the posts and away from the sign. Paint them UT Orange!!!

Jezuz - it's three freaking logos - and without them the new fancy jumbo megatron would not have been possible, so take it as a necessary evil and move on. It's still way better than that garish Power T with spokes and the hideous tan/beige that was on the back.
I for one don't mind it and will live with it. Except for the Pilot logo, you can hardly see 'em anyway.
The color of the board is BLACK not BLUE - it's a bad picture.
And UT bought this one out of their own pocket, BTW.

that looks like ass.
Hopefully the replays on the other side will be more pleasant this year and make up for it. Watching Wyoming return interceptions on you in slow motion sucks.

Sadly, Mississippi State's jumbotron looks better than ours.

Everything we do ends up looking tacky. Just take a look at the carpeting they used for a lot of the renovation. I think they pulled it up from an Aramark theater built in the seventies and reused it.
I don't mind advertisements. I just mind how tacky these look. Other schools seem to have pulled off the trick without looking like they slapped a bunch of decals over an old photo.
The city council needs to be told to shove their zoning regs up their collective asses for forcing us into a situation where we end up with an eyesore that will make us a laughing stock and will ruin a lot of the game day atmosphere since you can see the damn thing a mile away.

I don't see any blue except for the "F" in the Food City logo.. On my LCD monitor the color is black. OTOH, the "NEYLAND STADIUM" and the Power T at the top of the board are Auburn/Florida orange on my monitor. My guess is that it will look totally different on my CRT monitor at home.

I couldn't agree more. I don't buy the zoning excuse people are giving. Is it too much to ask just to put up something classy? I mean, seriously...why do we have to consistently overthink this shit. A big ass Power T on white would look better than that shit. Your take on the carpeting is right on. Why do we need fucking Power T's all over the damn carpet? Whomever is doing the design work for this shit needs to be fired. Keep it classy, Hamilton!!!!
