My question to you is

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You seem to be very knowledgeable and loyal fan of coach fulmer.

Do you think he will

A. Be content with an analyst job and parlay that into a long and lucrative career?

B. Go to another BCS school and win multiple conference and NCs?

C. Go to a smaller school and be content with top 25 finishes since a non bcs school won't play for the NC?

D. Probably the least likely, but return to UT 10-15 years down the road after a successful broadcasting career and take care of a little unfinished business. Namely setting the all time wins record and winning another NC.

E. Take the Larry Coker path to success and muddle through a couple of seasons of forgettable commentary on television before shamefully accepting a job at a directional school in Texas because he has deluded himself into thinking he still has "it". And by "it", I mean the ability to surround himself with some reasonably talented coordinators who can do the real heavy lifting of the program while remaining loyal yes men to the end who would never consider another job.

Top 25 my ass!

How many times did Flummo finish OUT of the Top 25 since 99?

Using the Associated Press final polls, he finished completely out of the top 25 three times this decade and was just under the wire at No. 25 twice. The two No. 25 rankings were more about Tennessee tradition than about performance on the field.

Since B & D both have a statisical likelihood of 0%, I would go with C in part. I think he will go to a smaller school, but he isn't going to have any level of success. His personality does not fit the broadcast booth, I think that will be a one year experiment.

I agree on the one year experiment. His Q ratings will plummet that show.

I also dont believe his ego will allow him to take a job at a smaller school. Remains to be seen.

Of the 4, A would be the most likely.

He's going to struggle anywhere else he goes as a head coach. The big boys won't take him, and he'd have to go somewhere like a Baylor or the equivalent. In that scenario, you have to wonder if he'd have the patience to rebuild a program.

If Fulmer is smart, he stays retired and awaits his induction into the College Football Hall in 5 or 6 years.

He's a lock for that honor, by the way. Say what you will about the Vols in recent years, but that 45-5 SEC record over four years will never be equaled again.

If Louisville is the destination next season, they are a BCS team. A BCS team in a crap conference. Just sayin'.
