* Fullback Austin Johnson probably the best offense player this week.
* Running game was bottled up as defense was fired up; lots of defense celebrating
* Hardesty and Poole had long runs
* Early Stephens looked good with long throws to A Johnson, Warren, and G Jones
* Crompton looks like he is telegraphing his passes (and easier to pick off) and was picked off at least twice
* Crompton did have better last part of practice with TD throw to G Jones
* T Poole helped off field with severe cramps
* Waggoner and Rogan are having a big battle for safety position: Rucker forecasts that Waggoner might win the battle
* Lathers looked great at LB at times.
* McCoy had sore knee and Vinson had sore Hamstirng.

Many thanks to Wes Rucker, Chattenooga Free Press, for his notes.

Herman Lathers has a slight edge right now to become the surprise player of August practice. This guy can run and it sure looks like he wants to hit. If he can play the Mike, it sure would smooth out several things on the defensive side of the ball, including not rushing a freshman into the fray.
