Tempting, I think the Vols score once on defense, run one kick back for a score and hang at least 45 on the Hilltoppers.

Yeah, very tempting. Statement game out of the chute for the new guys, so they might pour it on a bit to announce their presence with authority.

Hate to say it, but I don't think we cover. Crompton wins the early qb competition and the offense will be inept. Defense does not give up a td. 24-6 Vols.

WKU finished #160 in last years Sagarin rankings and were 2-10. Perfect opponent to clean up on and give the offense some swagger. I just hope we dont get anybody hurt. (Fuck you Pacific!)

was just looking at Lindys and out of 120 teams in whatever division we are in, WKU was #120.

Also interesting UCLAwas #51, Memphis #89 and Ohio #83. At least Kiffin gets a break on the OOC schedule.

It's their third full season in FBS (formerly D-1A) college football, and the first two years they played primarily a schedule of FCS (formerly D-1AA) teams. Phil Steele picks them as last in the Sun Belt Conference, as they return only 12 starters from last year.

But it will still be interesting, as this is the type game that the Fulmer regime couldn't put away over the last few years. If Kiffin brings out a team that rightfully dominates a weak opponent, then we know progress is being made. If we struggle, then it's gonna be a very long year.

I'm an optimist and say we cover.

USA Today has us at # 57. Until I see us play some consistent offense, I'm not sure we cover 28 pts against WKU. Maybe if as wagee suggest we run back kicks and score on D we may pull away, but I just want to win the game first.

Galla,
Four big and strong senior offensive linemen, three or four talented tailbacks, two fullbacks that hit when they block like a Mack Truck, the Vols will ramm it home on the ground against these guys. Any passing that goes on will be in the form of fine tuning for the next game.

Really, they should wagee. I just have my disappointment meter set so high after the 08 version of Fulmer, I am cautious.
