Taken from rivals...we're DAMN FOOTBALL TEAM AGAIN!!!
Yeah, that's what we need to do. This conference is going to hit him like this. They're not going to take it easy on him," Kiffin said. "To see Rico (McCoy) have those two huge hits on him, those were big-time, game-time major hits. That was not 99 percent. That's running through him. So he needs that because he fumbled it today. If we practiced 80 percent, that would've been the opener (against Western Kentucky) right there, first time that he got hit. It's great to have him out there."
Even if tempted to stay down, Brown responded well to the pops.
"He bounced right back up, got right back in there and that's really good to see," Kiffin said. "You can't simulate that, and I doubt -- you'd have to ask him -- I doubt he's been hit like that ever. Some guys get hit like that and they stay down for a while. He bounced right back up."
Kiffin doesn't think Brown is being targeted for the hype that accompanied Rivals.com's No. 1 player to Knoxville, but simply indoctrinated into the collegiate game.
"I think that they want to watch to see the reaction. I think even when they see him pop back up, they don't see him complain about it or throw his helmet. That's what they want to see," Kiffin said. "You just don't get automatically into football, into a team. Guys don't let you in until you prove yourself."
