He said it was the loudest crowd he'd ever heard in any sport. They were ranting about the atmosphere at our arena, long a sore spot with me. They described the arena as a "pro" arena. They said our students are terrible as far as supporting the team. Only 600 or so for Bama. A guest on Tony's show named Lee, who knows his ball, said they should have built our place around 16,500 or so. Agree all around. I'd prefer 15,000 with none of the stuff that makes it feel like a pro arena. Ain't gonna happen but it would be nice.

It sure was quite in their on Sunday...and it was from before the tip. It was embarrassing, actually how silent it was.

USC's arena is 18,000 and he's right...it was rocking before the game.

Keep in mind however, that Bobby Knight and ESPN was in the house, it was for the SEC East and was a national broadcast.

The Bammer game in reality didn't mean a hell of a lot (except maybe a seed or two in the dance)......very different scenarios.......

Bigger doesn't necessarily mean better.

Neyland is not that loud either. LSU football crowds are much smaller and louder than Neyland crowds.

UT's crowds always seem to be sitting on their hands when I'm watching the game from the tv.

Neyland used to be loud. I remember the days when I'd leave with a headache...literally. I've maintained for years if Fulmer would have done something...ANYTHING...in the manner Spurrier used to do in orchestrating the Swamp, Neyland would have remained deafening....let's remember, the Swamp was not always loud, even after they built the end zone tower. Spuirrier "got it." And so did their fans.

Our team and our crowd took their cue from Fulmer and that's a large part of why Neyland is the way it is.

Here's hoping The Fast Lane understands what he has at his disposal...hungry Vols fans with well-rested vocal chords.
