I find so amazing how the feeling of a compressed golf ball coming off the face of an iron can linger for days. It's like the first time getting laid or the first time you enhaled. Some say that the blasting big drive is better, but the instant feedback I get when I pure an Iron shot is like touching the hand of God. I hit a 7 iron yesterday from 158 that ended up 2" from the cup. The closest I have come to getting a hole in one. I can still fell the club stricking the ball, I can still feel the club carving the divot, 24 hours later.

See, this is why I stink at golf. I crush one 8-iron about 155 yds. (15 or so more than normal) and fly the green. Naturally, I think I've got this all figured out, so every club automatically gets an extra 15 yds.
I assure you I've never flown the green since. Came up short on most, but NEVER flew the green again.

I hit a gap wedge a coupla weeks back at Tims Ford that was as solid a shot as I have ever hit. I can still remember that shot feel.

Even more than the coupla big drive I hit. Like you said nothing like hitting a solid Iron Shot.
