This is one aspect that has been a problem with Bruce Pearl teams at UT.

It is something that can be improved with practice and help.

That's probably the worst performance at the foul line that I've seen in years. Coach Pearl will have them ready in Tampa.

Don't understand it. That FT period was like they were afraid to take the lead or something. I can't believe I thought UT would whip 'em good. :rotfl:

If they would all do as Lofton did.....spend lots of time each week outside of ncaa allowed practice time..hours shooting free throws they would improve greatly. As in life as in sports you have to want and will it to happen to make it.

The concentration at the line was terrible. Tyler is usually very good at the line. So is Wayne. Not today. They missed 12. If we get half of those, we win.

That's obviously less than 50 stinking percent. If they had hit just 14 of 22 (63%), they win. Also after three very good games from behind the arc, they started 0-7 on three point attempts.
I will give them credit for battling hard in the second half, but if the free throw shooting is not more consistent, I'm afraid they won't last long in the SEC tournament or the NCAA.

Problem is, they battled back from a huge deficit and took a 4 point lead...only to give it right back. No focus, no poise against an inferior team at home. Unforgivable. This loss is the worst one of the year, hands down. Today was all about seeding...we might not have dropped a lot, but I'll bet, unless we win at least 2 in the SEC tourney, that we drop at least a slot or two.

bama with a freaking interim coach. And no Ron Steele. In Knoxville. Ridiculous.
