Buttermilk and cornbread.......Put the cornbread in a glass of buttermilk...crumble it up and eat it with a spoon......man its good........

Well you need milk to make cornbread - and yes I've eaten and baked a lot of cornbread down through the years.

meal, flour, baking powder, soda, salt, egg, milk - mix the dry - heated cast iron skillet with your preferred oil/fat selection. Dump the wet in to the dry - stir pour into skillet - then bake till its golden brown.

This is about the reaction I get...either people love it or are grossed out by it (and prolly haven't tried it)

Some folks call it crumb-up.

Great for dessert if no sweets available. My grandmother said buttermilk would settle your stomach after dinner. I don't know about that, but it is good!
