Southern Restaurant across the street from Smokin' Ed's BBQ in Lakeside outside Chattanooga has a pretty good bologna burger all the way with nice, fried tots.

Today's specials included turkey n' dressing or spare ribs... and I went with the bologna burger.

They have free Wi-Fi here.

Usually a good meat and three type lunch there as well. I don't get any more Soddy Daisy than that place

Its gotta be Bill, what he is calling Lakeside we might refer to as Middle Valley

Yeah, drove that way yesterday and saw Big Ed's across the street. Wonder how that place is BTW.

Southern Restaurant is awesome and is as East Tennessee country as you can get. Or "Soddy-Daisy," as you say, although it's more North Hixson or Middle Valley, which you also said. That place has been there for a long time. They used to have a Red Bank location.

That's "Lakesite," BTW, with a "t."

Yup, Hixon Pike, Lakesite... I only had a few minutes to do my research! I enjoyed Thursday on the lake, but Saturday sucked! Everybody was out joy riding. Then, there was a tournament near dusk, and I bet 50 bass boats roared past my wife's uncles dock as I paddled around on a sea kayak.

On topic, there's nothing like fresh fried Sequoyah fish in a cornmeal batter.

It's nice to see that lake with fish again.

Blackie, now you're leaving the S out of Hixson! ;) tebow, do we just ignore this most serious gaffe? LOL I think Blackie's better half is an alum of our arch-rival, Red Bank. Maybe this explains it.

J/K of course. Who cares? People from Greeneville, TN, have a coronary if you leave out the E.

A lot of my friends won't eat fish from around the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant. Wonder if there's anything to that belief that the fish are somehow not safe to eat because of being near Sequoyah?

The Southern Restaurant in Red Bank is still there.

Bill, you are correct. She is my better half and is a Red Bank alum.

Unfortunately, no. I was off a week with this visit... and not in control of the planning.
