Washing dishes didn't used to bother me. But now it seems I can't make toast without dirtying 20 dishes. There are dirty dishes everywhere when I cook at home. It makes me want to eat at Chili's instead. How do you foodies handle all the dirty dishes that are necessary to eat homemade cooking? I swear I spend all of my free time washing dishes.

Clue - stainless steel & Electrolux...

Don't consider myself a so called "foodie" - but cookin' ain't that complex. IMO. a few pots and pans - a couple knives, cutting board and that's about it..

Feeding people has a way of creating dirty dishes - thus the Electrolux comment..

My best example is a really good carrot cake that can be made in my Cuisinart food processor...NO other bowls. It's a great recipe, and the cleanup is so much less.

Now waffles...from the recipe that calls for egg whites beaten separately, then folded in...it's a three bowler, min.

Use wax paper to sift onto.

Use silpats/exopats for baking. I made some really good cinnamon rolls starting them in the bread machine (1 bowl) then filled them with sugar butter cinnamon and fresh ground nutmeg and I knew the mess would be gooey when cooked. (The filling was just spread onthe dough) So when I cut them apart they went on a silpat. It cleans up in about 15 seconds...no pan scrubbing. I bowl, one cutting sheet of plastic (in stead of a cutting board for working the dough and cutting) (Also fast clean) and one silpat.
