I axed a buddy of ours, who runs a kitchen, in this area to fix me some

chicken fried steak with chow-chow...

Unfortunately he did a deal with a bed of fried taters - with veal & chow-chow instead.. As the word down this way goes - it was allsome..

None the less - with some pounded beef, and taters, done right, maybe a nice little tomato sauce and chow-chow - woulda been mighty special..

Putz around in your kitchen - come up with a recipe that'll do right by some of your fave chow-chow and post it...:bee:

ghen - you don't have any idea how often you come up in conversation once alcohol and food are involved.

In this particular case - we were headed down to a ping ball game - Rice vs KSU - and asked for some comfort foods - non-Gulf coast traditional.

The taters I understood, the sauce no idea.. The chow-chow, I believe was something based on northern asian picklin' style and made in-house.. I'll get the specifics, if there is such a thing later on this week. FWIW - I thought how good that sh*t would be *if" calf or chicken livers were involved...

Hoss we really need to spend a couple days slummin' in the Big Easy - eating, laughin', and basically enjoyin' life. I'll add F*CK ALL the NEW ORLEANS HATERS..

Yeah, my name is often associated with alcohol consumptitaion.

I'd love to do a New Orleans trip. My favorite town. Thats where I learned to cook.
