I think it was Boonie that was telling me that Mayfields subs out to TGLee for the Fla market.
Mayfields is great though.

How about Lay Row Catch a Mellow (sp) BBQ sauce? Wonder if that stuff is any good? http://southernrecipefoods.com/

Double Cola. Funny, but we saw more Double Cola ads in Santiago, Chile than here in its hometown of Chattanooga.

Mayfields and TG both owned by Dean Foods. They tried making "Mayfields" ice cream down here, painted the trucks and everything. Not good. Nothing tastes like Scottys happy cow juice.

Keep us updated on that sauce Bill. We need a BBQ sauce with an island twist.

I'm gonna get me a jug of that when i'm up there next week Bill. That guys plant is right around the corner from my foundry up there. Seen his commerical, never tried it. I think you were there when we were talking about Tim Downey, from HHS whose old man owned Double Cola.

tebow, going to go off on a Hixson HS tangent here. Did you see our hilarious HHS "hall of fame"? Who are these people? I can name a zillion more accomplished HHS alumni than these people. Many from my own class. Such as Don Stephenson, Broadway star.

Where is Downey on this list? Where is the late Michael Houser, lead guitarist for Widespread Panic? Personal note here...Michael and I were not friends. But we talked every day in health class. I used to give him hell about going to UGA. He was the nicest, most gentle, finest person you would ever hope to meet. But I forgot about him through the years. I don't follow music that closely, so it wasn't until fellow Wildcat of ours birmy mentioned Houser that everything came back to me.

Looking over this list, I can place only a handful of these names. Catherine Neely is the great volleyball coach at East Ridge. Buster Vandergriff was a county commish. Hutch Lews coached girls hoops at Red Bank. Tim Gooden was asst principal at the fuggin junior high. Mr. Fairchild is a fine man and is on the Board of Education. Lovelace is the country songwriter. Pat Murphy was a great wrestler for HHS and UTC. Jackie Davidson was a homebuilder and big HHS supporter. I think voled is his son. That's it! Who are the others??? What a joke! Hixson High School hall of famer David Leatherwood is the manager at the Super BiLo in Hixson! He's a nice guy, but do we suck that bad?

Bill,

I am just happy that my entire class has managed to avoid the list. Possum Edwards told us that none of us would amount to anything anyhow. :yes2:

Ruby Tuesday's

(Man do I yearn for the 'original' Ruby's on 20th. My wife an I used to love that place when we were in school).

Still one of the best (and one of the few) salad bars around in my admittedly low-brow opinion. Why have salad bars all but disappeared from restaurants these days?

Salad Bar is great for lunch if you want to go light and don't have a lot of time. I think the whole salad bar idea took some bad steroids and morphed into the Golden Corrals of the world. Ruby Tuesday unfortuately appears to be on very precarious financial footing these days.

Another one that has been a huge financial (not food) success......

Cost. Lot of shrink. I know the guy that owns CiCi's franchise up here. He could care less how much of that bread they call pizza you eat, but you start getting into their margin eating big salads.

Depending on your definition of "brand" you can also debate these "brands" coming from Tennessee:

Dolly Parton
Tina Turner

and a shit load more. It's really a debate for another day.
