Who has one and (other than cost) why shouldn't I get it?

Everything I've eaten off of one of these has been outstanding.

You should get one, just be advised that you run the risk of becoming a bipolar hoity toity food snob like me. It's the best smoker in the damn world....just as the Weber is to chargrilling a steak. I've got 3 grills in my backyard a black kettle weber, a big green egg, and a propane weber. All great for different reasons and all worth every penny of the higher price tag.

If you've checked prices recently you might be surprised to find that Webers aren't so expensive relatively-speaking anymore. It's not that they've dropped their prices so much as their competition seems to have raised theirs. I've got a Weber gas grill that is 10 years old now and still going strong. I did finally have replace the burners but everything else in it is in excellent condition. Always starts with one push of the button. Highly recommended to people who cook with gas.

Wow. This board has now become one where the moderator edits posts in addition to sending midnight emails calling people names? Excellent.

Again, TIG, this is completely childish.....but I don't mind because it's not a reflection on my behavior but your own.

Birmy if you buy a Big Green Egg don't order one over the internet it voids the lifetime warranty. I would buy one from a dealer or go to an Eggfest, order one from the dealer that's affiliated with the Eggfest and you will save about $100.

Also you should get a plateseter
