Cool. My favorite era was the pull tab era. Beer was better back then before all the consolidation of smaller breweries. Hell, I drank Shaeffer Light like there was no tomorrow cause I swear that was the best shit on the market. Then they were sold to G Heilemann or one of them glomerates and poof! Total shit with a fucking pop top.
I still have a 6 pack of Billy, JR, and M.A.S.H beer. Gave my collection to my son which he promptly sold on Ebay for an undisclosed sum. hahaha

I've stepped on too many pull tabs and cut myself to miss those old things. Plus the old tin cans they were part of seemed to impart a taste of their own at times; aluminum cans seem pretty inert by comparison. Of course you could make the argument that forcing a modern top down into the very liquid you plan to drink can be pretty unsanitary although with beer it's less of an issue thanks to the sterilizing quality of alcohol. Given a choice I'll take a bottle but then you have the issue of broken glass...

I've opened balky pop-tops with a key but never a can that actually required a can opener with one. I'd especially be hesitant to try that today. Do you know what a key for a modern car costs? They can be over $100!
Funny how after all these years cans of certain types of drinks such as grape juice still require can openers.
