.....i don't get thowed like i used to, i still drink when i go out but i dont go with the intent on getting f'ed up like i use to. partly because i hate the next morning, i'm getting old. ;)
I usually only get drunk 2-3 times a year now but I went to a k'roke bar Friday and got toe up from the flo up. (it's sunday and I'm still paying for it)
My biggest thing is an excrutiating headache, i don't get sick, maybe i i drink 4-5 different kinds of drink. The majority of the time i drink liquor, dark liguor like Jack and stuff. don't drink much beer but partake on occasion.
I've heard a lot of people say drink a lot of water before you go to bed and when you wake up but it doesn't help me, i still have crippling headaches the next day. Is the science behind it that the achohol dehydrates you? if that's the case, drinking water should but it doesn't.
anybody know any next morning pills or ideas/concocssions that actually work.

Things that have worked for me:
1. Before you go to bed drink some water. Set your clock for about 3-4 hours before you really want to be up. When the alarm rings drink a glass of water with a couple asprin. NOT IBPROFEN. Asprin. When you wake up you will feel fine.
2. If you have access to a sauna. When you wake up the next morning drink a lot of water and get in a sauna. Take water with you. Sweat your ass off. It's always worked for me to sweat out everything. You might differ.

The water thing really does work. Drink a bunch of it before you go. You'll hate the pissing, but not the hangover that's missing.
Most of the other remedies are just shit, although I am a big believer in taking Milk Thistle daily to cleanse your liver. Having a healthy liver helps with hangovers a lot.
I do advise that I only drink very occasionally these days and even then only a glass or at the most two. I'm getting too dang old to feel like shit.

Same here Chef. It ws a lot cooler back in the late 80's when I was piling in someones dorm room up at UT and waking up Sunday morning after game day and laying a round bragging about who was hungover the most. The wife dont give a shit how bow i feel, alls she knows is the yard needs to be mowed and she has some flowers that need plantin'. :)

I take 3 advil before I go to bed if I had one too many shots of Jaeger. Otherwise I never get hangovers.
Switch to Jameson. When I was in the UK it was usually 1 1/2 bottles a night with the guys and back to the office at 7AM with no hangover. That stuff is very clean.

It was one of those two hour pass fail thingees and was taught by some hippie ex-junkie sandals type. The course served as more of a dosing guide as opposed to anything else. He recommended Gatorade to battle the dehydration. He also said that alcohol withdraw was a contributor to some of the symptoms. Which leads to the official Tebowisgay fail safe hangover cure........

I drink water during, and as much as I can stomach afterwards if I'v had to much liquor. I've also found Gatorade works great.
As for *remedies*, my buddy at work drinks pickle juice. I can't remember if it's a before or after thing. He heard about it from a friend and swears it works.

Coconut water. Not Coconut milk, different stuff. Coconut water is hands down the best hangover remedy I've come across.
I know it sounds funky and I was skeptical at first, but this stuff actually has few calories, loads of potassium and the electrolytes so closely match that of the actual human body that it was even used to inject directly into soldiers in WWII as a plasma substitute. Thankfully you just have to drink the stuff (preferably cold) - it can be found in the organic section of many supermarkets now. Triathletes use the stuff instead of sports drinks and swear by it.
The taste is fairly bland with only a hint of the traditional coconut present.

Interesting stuff! I always drink it over ice with a twist of lime when I eat Vietnamese and use it in place of water in my rice when I make Jamaican peas and rice, but this information I didn't know. Thanks.

Eat food, drink water=no hangover or smaller hangover. You drink enough and you are screwed either way.
Tylenol and Advil are not good to mix with alchohol. Viscious on the liver. Resist the urge to use these medicines and cold medicine if you are a drinker. Milk Thistle as a maintenance is great for the liver.
