Irons 4-AW. I'm still trying to figure out how to consistently hit my driver & 3, so I'm holding off on that purchase at the moment.

Me too. (kinda) I'm looking at some Taylor RACs.....course I've been looking at em since the first day this board started. :) Swinging Ping eye 2's right now and I'm just itching for some new stuff, ya know?

Did you get 'em from Edwin Watts? Just got my Spring 09 catalogue and noticed they had the R7 irons (4-PW, AW) for $399.
They also have the Ping Rapture driver for $199. Anybody ever hit one of these?? I think they were $399. or so when they came out a year or two ago and I've heard they are a hot driver.

Nah, I got them from Golfsmith for $399....and then a 15% off email coupon that I can redeem within a week on that purchase. So after I have them credit back $60 to my card, I will have paid $349.
When they came out last year, I believe they were between $600-$700.....so I'm pretty happy with what I got.
I've been looking at the new Taylor Made Burner Drivers.....as per reviews, it is one of the stronger drivers for the money at the moment. I'm still working on my tee shots, so I'm in no rush to spend until I really need to. Currently, my driver is sucking and have been using a 3 off the tee....consistently hitting it 225-250.

I've heard good things about the new Burner but have never hit one. Edwin Watts had the Burner on sale as well (Can't figure this one out but they have the Taylor Burner for $199 - was $299 BUT the Taylor Tour Burner is now $169 - was $399) Can't figure out why the Tour model is 30 bucks cheaper..??

No idea. I'm still trying to figure out why the R7 draw irons were only $299.

Taylor Made makes some great golf equipment, I'm a Callaway man myself but TM is very good too. You will enjoy those clubs IMO.

gotcha. I look at irons so little I did not know they called them that. I will be trying out an R9 TP 75 gram with 10's up front today to see how it compares with the same in my R7.
The look of the new R9 I am trying to get over. It has that Darth Vader helmet look vs. the classic look of the R7....and the 7 has a deeper face.

Played with them twice already, and increased the distance on every iron by at least 10-15%. I wish I had bought these sooner.

So what were you using before?

A set of Mega Bears I picked up cheap at Play It Again Sports. I just started playing again recently after about a 10 yr lapse, so I didn't need a good set until I got my swing back down.

Just complimented my set yesterday with a Tour Burner Driver from Sports Authority for $199. The best part is that I received a free 3W Tour Burner Fairway Wood for free (wasn't supposed to get the T series, but I wasn't about to argue). Even better, I had a coupon for $25 off any purchase over $100. All in all, both clubs for $175. I was the happiest guy on the course today.

Well then, you TM guys need a R9 driver. Bought one about a month ago and don't like it at all (think I'm not smart enough to use it). I paid $399 for it and will make you a great deal. PM me.

Trade it in towards something else at Golfsmith (if there's a location near you).

.....and absolutley loves them. He plays at about 90. He was hitting some Ping G2 knock offs so.....
Buddy of mine who is a scratch golfer, f that, people throw scractch golfer around too much, he's more like a 6 or 8..anyway, he went to a huge demo and he said he fave 2 irons were the Titleist AP2's and then the Taylor Burners (they make a blade and a game improvement iron)
