Haven't been there since I got canned for eating a cherry tomato behind the line by some nazi chef during my misspent youth.

I last ate there about 3 years ago and it was very average.
The food was good but it was not a value compared to what I paid for the meals.

IMO, has to be one of the most over-rated restaurants in town (it was good years ago). I have not been there since 2005 and have no desire to go again. Food is average, overpriced, and service just sucks. I know that I am in the minority here but I have not cared for Regas in years. I think people just go there to say they went there or have never been any place but Krystal or the Western Sizzler.

No, its terrible.
I had my first meal there when I was 9. Staying at the Andrew Johnson and eating at Regas were a very close second to trips to Neyland.
The only thing I miss about the Regas is their house dressing, which was made by JFG and a mortal fucking secret, but I'm getting close. I'll post the variations in a few weeks.

I went to school with a Regas. I didn't like him any more than the restaurant. I'm going to plead the 5th on saying any more than that about it.

who was Gus's son, (remember the Grady's chain?) was a couple of years behind me in high school and is a hell of a nice guy, but that was thirty years ago.....so if your Regas was connected it would have to be third generation.

Yes, I think third is correct.

I do not know the genealogy of it all but the Regas family was supposed to be connected to Grady's and several other restaurant's around Knoxville over the years. Also, Dave Thomas (Wendy's founder) got his start working at Regas many years ago. Seems like Metropulse or the Sentinel did a pretty lengthy article about this some time ago.

Hasn't been worth a damn since the Regas family sold it.
