Anybody know what that is, aside from being the greatest food invention since mastodon ribs.

Stick o' butter melted in pan. Cut the fresh blanched corn 8-10 ears off the cob. Saute it with a pinch of salt, pinch of sugar 3 min . Done

Sandra Lee could be fun in numerous ways. Cookin ain't one of them.

What TIG says, but I use a little bacon drippings in mine as well as the butter. Also, I prefer white corn when it's in season.....when it's good, you don't need to add any sugar. Salt, however, IS NEVER optional....in anything. ALL food, baked, sweet, whatever, NEED salt.....that includes salad. Pinch a bit of salt in your lettuce next time....not much, just enough to do the trick. Oh, and coffee is better with just a tiny pinch too.

Edit: I forgot to add that cooking fried corn in great granny's cast iron skillet is also a very good thing.

Got to have a black skillet to start, otherwise its a waste of time.

Yeah, bacon drippings, butter and milk and a little corn starch if you need to thicken it up. Shave the corn off the ears and then scrape them clean. The corn needs to cook about 2 hours to get it right. White corn only, lots of black pepper. Freezes well.

Sandra Lee dont know what the fuck she's talking about. Frozen corn????? Horrors.

Get your black iron skillet hot.

Grate really juicy freshest corn onto the skillet.
Turn once.

Remove from Skillet.

Enjoy.

And I almost forgot....sometimes I'll chop up some hard salami into little bitty pieces and drop in toward the end.....and one time I added some I added some grated pepper jack cheese after the salami and stirred it in good as it melted - that was pretty good too......

I'm not a terrier and I'm not from England.....but I my mother was raised in Ohio and my dad was raised in California - we wound up in Knoxville after my he retired from the Navy, so I don't really have real deep Tennessee roots - and darned sure didn't fry any corn while I was there.......

I didn't mean to insult you dog, I just couldn't think of a yankee breed :)

However, we southern types are a bit prudish about corn in any form i.e.:

grits
cornbread (Which has likely divided more families than the war between the states)
fried corn

I'm going to give Ghengy a lecture on touchin grits with a tube o garlic cheese in a few ;)

Grits - don't like
Cornbread - It's OK, particularly if there's a pepper or two in it
Fried Corn - really like
I also like to grill corn - after being rolled around in garlic butter (the corn, not me)
I like to pop corn
Hushpuppies with onion in them are ones of God's greatest gifts

You gotta be a pit bull. Not many other breeds that'd come on a Tennessee board and admit they don't like grits and put peppers in their cornbread. That takes large gonads.

on the frickin' cob by God.

If you can;t eat it on the cob, then it is silage.
