I had my first chitlin while at UT. When I started that job back in the UC kitchen I was the only white girl in there. The black ladies who'd been there awhile were a little stand offish about me at first, but eventually we all became good friends. They were talking about chitlins and I said I wanted to try one and you'd think I'd just shit a gold brick. They couldn't believe it.

I, on the other hand, couldn't believe what those smelly little bastards actually taste like.

I have never understood why anybody would go near that shit. My family used to have a big party every summer, and my uncle would cook up a big pot of that shit and they;d eat it like there was no fucking tomorrow. I would go to Burger Chef.
