I would say that the hardest hole that I have ever played is number 17 at The Cliffs at Keowee Vinyards. 250 Yard Par 3. Elevated tee box and over water. The picture below is from the tee box.

Beautiful view. Impossible hole for me.
So far as difficult holes, it seems the most difficult one is the next one I play. elevated greens, tight fairways, long water, extreme slope, woods, fast greens, and doglegs that are tight or surrounded with perils are all difficult for me. I guess you could say that any place other than the driving range is tough for me.:rotfl:

for me? the hardest course I ever played was Starrpass, in Tucson, Az. It's a marroitt resort, that I played with my buds, early in the morning, it was our first 18 of the day, later in the day, we went and play another nearby course. here's a picture of the course.

when the wind is blowing 30 mph.
This particular photo is misleading as it doesn't convey the difficulty.

#18 at the Hawthorns in Fishers, Indiana. 475 par four. Over a marsh with 220 carry, or shorter carry if you play the shorter end. Those not familiar with the midwest, the wind blows constantly so many times this bitch is in to the wind. If you go the shorter end, then you have 250 plus into the hole. Par five green (i.e., harder) with bunkers right and short and hazard on the left.

10 U C Seems like that hole would play 220 or so being down hill.
Dont want to be long so I would say A hybrid or 5 wood aimed at the left of the green with a slight draw. I am left handed.
Still give you 20 feet or so for birdie.
Lagoon Legend had some tough holes in FLA.
This Hole might challenge you guys

Don't know that this is the hardest hole I've ever played, but it was one of the most interesting.. Hole #6 at Kings North in Myrtle Beach is nicknamed "The Gambler". It is a par 5 that is between 497-568 yards depending on the tees you play. The hole plays as a dog leg left off the tee at that distance but you can chose to hit your drive onto an island fairway which sits in the middle of a small lake around the dog leg and cut the distance considerably.

Of course I did forget to mention the constant hurting wind slightly to the right. Draw would help cut into that, but the distance is still the same and a draw leave a much smaller landing area. Then you have my swing which is a power fade (most of the time). But one little mistake and splash. Or like I did, hit it exactly pin high but a shade to the right, wind carried it to the first rock right of the grass and boing!
