They were wearing an Obama T-shirt.
Question for the board. What would you do?

I think Id tell him its not appropriate clothing to wear to an interview, and then conduct the interview removing the applicatable points for improper clothing.
I wouldnt mention the person on the shirt.

What position was he interviewing for?

If it's some low level low pay job where dress doesn't matter AND he was a good candidate I'd hire him but tell him wearing political type stuff was not allowed - regardless of the person on the shirt.
Either that or I'd tell him to go to hell....I can't decide.....

It's a matter of judgement. And how would that shirt go down with the workers with whom he or she would be interacting?
I would NOT mention the t-shirt...anything you say can be misrepresented.

Thanks guys. By the way it was she. She broke into a convrsation with an employee within earshot about how Obama couldnt do it all in 4 years. Went on to say it would take him 8 to straighten out George Bush's mess.
Regardless of your politices you dont start talking that in an interview.
I'll let you guys guess whether she was hired or not.

1) Was she hot?
2) Are you on the market?
No other relevant information here to make a decision.

Not hot. Not very smart either. And a pack of trouble is my guess.
I didnt do the interview.
Am I on the market? Yeah in 2 weeks I'll be on the job market.
Anyone know where I can rent a Banana Splits Costume?

Hey the costumes work.
I was looking into a Franchise once and I asked "DO we have to do a Clown out front for 4 weeks".
Chicky replies "YES!!!!! YOU WONT MAKE IT WITHOUT A CLOWN"
So I am thinking a Banana Splits deal. Fleagle or Drooper would be my preference

Finish the interview, then decide if the person's positives outweigh their baggage. My view has always been: keep politics and religion are not polite conversation, and should be kept out of the office. Unless everyone agrees completely, and the bigger your company the less likely that is, someone is going to inevitably get offended; and that type of offense just will not end well.
I'd be extremely unlikely to hire any idiot slacker who thought so little of their interview as to wear a TShirt at all; much less a political one.

You might need to branch out for a Snort costume, Trex. Or was it Snork? Can't remember.
I can't believe anyone would show up for an interview in any sort of T shirt, or even if it was for a manual labor job, in one that was controversial in any way. I would say the same thing if she showed up in a Bush or Palin T shirt. Now if she showed up in a circa 1977 Farrah Fawcett T shirt...

I'm not saying you have to wear a suit but you need to look professional. It shows a lack of respect and lack of professionalism. I've worn a shirt and tie to every interview I've had. Don't hire the bitch.

Yeah Atheian she gave a down payment. I didnt tell many people about that. So hopefully you saw it posted on here.
Supposed to finish the deal in the next coupla weeks. She got a steal but it did help me accomplish step 1 of "Escape From Memphis".
Egbert Snorkie is a little too short for me.
My First look at Google looking for costumes came up empty.

All I can say is 'Entitlement.' You saw it first-hand. She probably:
a) expected that being an Obama supporter somehow gave her an edge
b) didn't care either way because she's waiting for the govt. hand-outs anyhow
If it was that bad at the interview, imagine what it would have been like in the work environment. And I can tell you from personal experience how hard it is to fire someone like that.

Why does everyone assume the shirt was a political statement? From what I have seen it is more religious in nature. There is certainly no rational basis for it.
What I thought was most hilarious during the last election was watching all of the Obama-tards voting to get rid of their own jobs. They will be the first ones fired when things get tight because they are the least skilled, the least rational and the most trouble. Unfortunately, they are as group too dumb to understand cause and effect well enough to realize what they have done.
