Golfer John Daly is only fooling himself if he thinks he's traveling the road to recovery (http://blog.nola.com/tpsports/2009/04/golfer_john_daly_is_only_fooli.html)
This is a sad, sad story of a man with an extraordinary set of golf skills, who is wasting them and his life.
I spent some time with John on a couple of occasions associated with business. Once in his home and another time at a company golf outing. John is not what you would call a sophisticated person. He's an Arkansas redneck of the nth degree. I would go as far as to say he would have fit in nice with the Clampett family. He would have been a good character on the show.
Knowing that, I still look at John as a golfer that I love to follow. The story of rise to glory is too good to ignore. Its almost tragic to see this story play out as it is.
