I'd say that there will be space openin' up at the Knoxville Bar spot...
We'd offer free buddy-guard services for all UT athletes, including rides home,
but no VIP treatments.
We'll sell it as a safe-haven.
No cops allowed; off-duty or on-duty.

We Could name it OuterMonvoliaII,

and, well, there's lotsa idears here....

the only thing that will happen to that Knoxville Bar once this is over is their traffic will increase, you can take that to the bank.

will do hehe. I was thinking yesterday I was going to go see that place already. It looks familiar but I know ive never been in it.

I went to one last time down on Cumberland i REALLY liked but for the life of me I cant remember the name, but Id recognize a picture of it if i saw it.

The parking lot wasnt flat, it was on a hill. (shocker I know, its knoxville) If you were heading away from campus on cumberland (i think) it would be on the right. 50/50 bar/resturant. They had a pretty good draft beer selection, some micorbrews. And one of my knoxville buddies had me order this "garlic flat bread like bread with parmasean cheese" that they were suppossedly well known for. Kinda like an upscale version of Little Ceasers Garlic bread, and god damn was it good. Been driving me nuts not remember the name and dont know how to find a pic of it.

That would be Copper Cellar. It is a fine establishment and nothing like this shit would ever happen there. (knocking on wood...) It is directly accross Cumberland Ave. from Bar Knoxville (which is beside Wendy's).

not a good pic but all I can find. If your staring straight at this place from the front, does the parking lot go uphill from front to back and on both sides?

If Bar Knoxville does close it will only be a matter of time before some other shitty bar opens in that building.

One of my best friends got drunk there back in the winter of 1984, I can't remember what name it went by then. He died in a one person accident on his way home that night, driving shit faced drunk of course. His mom sued the bar saying they should have stopped serving him. They closed a month later only to re-open by spring semister, with a new name of course. Once a shithole, always a shithole.

Yes, very steep hill in the back parking lot. Guarantee that's it. Check the link I posted, you'll likely remember the bar because, as you may have guessed, it's all copper.

i'll have to hit this copper cellar place out, looks nice.

last trip down was one big long blur. I like to hit a couple new places each time. last trip was the mushroom, and a kick ass lil place that wasnt on campus, it was out a ways. The menu was kind of like a Fridays or a Ruby Tuesdays but better food. They had a long driveway to it, and a very nice patio you could sit outside on while you ate/drank and have a smoke, and right off the balcony was a big pond. Really enjoyed that place.

And some complete SHITHOLE titty bar. No clue what part of knoxville it was in but I remember it was right by an interstate, soon as we got off the highway we were in "shitholeville" and one of my buddies called it the Catch. Dont know if that was its name or knickname. I remember a dude standing up at the front of the main stage with cowboy boots, a belt buckele the size of my head, and spitting skoal on the floor. I remember the girls in there seemed VERY excited to actually see a $5 bill rather than a $1, and my buddy telling me on the way out the door "dude, you cant bring her home with us, my wife will kick my ass".

For one game a year Del Griffith and myself will set up the tailgate early and then go to Mellow Mushroom when they open at 10:30 and drink our asses off. Last year it was the SC game which was a 7:30 kickoff. The food is great and I knew it had to be it when you said good beer selection.

Nice catch Nibs.. No one has ever picked up on that name. The movie is an all time classic.

As far as the Copper Cellar I have never been. I'm usually in Knox on the weekends for the next couple of months. What is so great about it?

Sorry Turf, It was my hangout back in the late 80's early 90's.

And the food used to be really good although times have changed quite a bit. The bar area is just one of those places I have always loved. Great big leather, swivel bar chairs that you can kick back in that DARK atmosphere and get away from all the noise plus drink double martinis or ice cold beers with good friends. It is a great atmosphere gameday and surprisingly not nearly as busy as one would think because a lot of people have no clue that the downstairs is even there.

You were at the Wild Wing Cafe. They wakeboard in that pond outside. They got a high speed winch in the back of a pick-up. They pull the ski rope around to the other side and then ski back across the pond. Even a hillbilly like me thought that was redneck. Funny as hell and a damn good bar to boot.

As far as titty bars go, the pickins are slim in K-ville. Try the Mouse's Ear on Kingston Pike. It's probably your best bet.

Didn't it used to be called Bonkers in the early 90's? I got tossed for getting a BJ in a booth there around 93. I ran into a girl I went to high school with who was famous for her fellatablility. We were in the booth talking and taking shots until we were both hammered. I brought up the fact that I had heard about her talents. I was in the process of passing out in the booth when she decided to demonstrate her skill. I felt what was going on, opened my eyes as a bouncer walked up and was politely asked to take it somewhere else. I got a round of applause from those who had noticed as we were escorted redfaced to the door. Good times....

I think Bar Knoxville was called Rudy's when I was in school (late 90's) and it was a shithole then - frequented by football players, jock sniffers, and dirty sluts looking to get with the football players. I think I went there once for about 5 minutes and left. That place just needs to be torn down and redeveloped along with most of the Strip.

I say we open up a place and just serve Big Gulps of domestic beer for $3.25. and have a few dart boards and a juke box without and rap or cheesy country music. We could call it "Fulmer's FUPA".

holy shit, hehehe, i didnt know if i was really drunk or imagining that. There was a god damn boat parked in that pond big enough to handle a rough Lake Erie and I asked one of my Knoxville buddies, "WTF is a speedboat doing in that pond?" but none of them knew.

answers that hehehe, thanks!
