Just like Leggo says below- I could have sworn I saw a report/article/arrest record about a public restroom. However, when I did the Google search last pm I found several articles on it and all I could find was Jacksonville Beach Police. No mention of a public restroom in those Googled reports so I retracted it. Sorry you missed it.

If this was some minor misunderstanding then a) how come a guilty plea? b) was there previous episodes that may have made a trial potentially tricky? Got an unconfirmed email last pm that there were other circumstances that led to the plea and c) why a huge 11 month sentence behind bars with no parole? That is quite the sentence for a "peeping tom" offense as you guys claimed.

You have to understand that D-Oracle isn't the brightest candle out there and can't understand things very well. There is not a ALWAYS or NEVER with things. I've not been involved in the G-bashing but there was a report in a Florida newspaper that mentioned that the police suspected G of planting cameras in one or or more public bathrooms or bath houses in the Jacksonville area. I read this myself; I'm not repeating something I read in an AV post. No, I can't provide a link now but I remember it well because at the time I hadn't heard G's side of the story AND because I assumed in the case of a bitter divorce that it would be easy enough for a vindictive wife to plant that camera herself in the step-daughter's bathroom and then point the finger of blame at G. In the flurry of PMs that went around back when the story first hit the fan I made that point over and over. But then I read the newspaper story. I have no way of knowing if the story was accurate but I can at least independently verify that the story was out there. As I said, I'm not here to bash or defend G or AV either one.

It does make one wonder since an 11 month sentence with no chance of parole for a Home nanny cam seems very very very long. Again- there just has to be more to the story.

Also, there was something in the court record or perhaps a newspaper account of the court proceedings that mentioned "prior incidents" or something to that effect. I never saw anything else about that but that statement implied that this wasn't G's first time in dealing with such a charge which would explain why he didn't get probation this time. I admit that's just my speculation but it makes sense IMO.

I always got along pretty well with G so no one can accuse me of mentioning any of this as some sort of revenge. I wouldn't have said anything about it at all if not for the posts accusing AV of making stuff up.

I remember the same thing as Softball and the rest. Just because we read all of those reports doesn't mean they were true of course but I think we have established that the reports did exist at the time. I remember it was not very clear at first exactly where the camera was said to be... in his home, another home, a pool house, a public restroom etc... I also seem to remember there was some notion the step daughter may have been his victim.

Genghis was funny but that was about it. He didn't have any great insight or intellect... certainly no more so than most of the posters here. AV - I respect that you feel strongly about Ghenghis and what he's done. I really do. None of us can "defend" him. (He obviously paid someone for that.) We're all entitled to our opinion about him....just like you are. But agreeing that he should be able to come back and post (even moderate) does not mean that any of us condone his actions or behaviors. I'm quite sure none of us do. I've said I would like to see him back but Jesus, if just the mention of him coming back causes this much raucus, his posting will explode everyone's head. I think that's unfortunate.

My private life is separate from my posting life. The two should only be intertwined when I want them too.
