Scoring more runs in May than any other team in MLB.
I guess Pendleton knows what he's doing huh?

Plus, having one of the best (at least at this point in the season) bullpens in the bigs doesn't hurt either.

There's modest talent on this team, but Bobby Cox is doing a masterful job. Mostly no-names in the 'pen. A couple of retreads in the starting rotation. And I don't think an infield of Glaus, Prado, Escobar/Infante and Hinske put much fear in opponents at the beginning of the season. Chipper's barely hitting .250. Melky Cabrera has disappointed. I think it's one of Bobby's best jobs so far.

If they'd a kept Tex, Cox would been a hero 3 years ago.

I'd hold off on kissing up on Pendleton. Heyward hasn't had time enough to be corrupted by TP's horrible advice. I think TP was told he'd be fired if he screwed with J-Hey. The kid can just hit. Glaus is an old all-star who doesn't need his advice as is Hinske. Glaus just needed to get healthy and see enough pitches.

Hitting coaches give little advice. Their main job is to make sure that hitters are using the proper mechanics.
TP's horrible advice. Gimme a frickin' break dude.

Let's see Escobar hit well over 300 last year and with RISP I think he led the NL and possibly the Majors. Prado hit well over 300 last year and currently leads the MLB in hits. Glaus is an accomplished HR hitter and Chipper is a hall of famer. Pretty decent infield if you ask me. Hinske plays so little I have no idea why you would even mention his name and when he does its mostly in LF.
Everyone knew before the season started their BP would be good and their starting rotation among the best in baseball, even after geniuses around this place called for McDowell's head last year. So again, why you would make such a retarded statement is intriguing.

Well, another way to look at it is Chipper's on the downhill side of his career, Escobar and Prado were still unproven (and Escobar is barely hitting .200 right now; Prado is apparently the real deal), and Glaus was in Andruw Jones territory with his career. Face it, Heyward- a rookie- is the only stud on this year's roster (excluding pitchers). The Phillies have studs all over their line-up, so I think it's fair to say that Cox may be "outkicking his coverage" with this team so far. Plus, Jurrjens ain't right, Kawakami is like 0-6 and DLowe's ERA is around 5.00. Team has a LOT of holes on paper.

Phillies have had terrible fielding the last few games...errors, misjudging foul balls, dropping grounders, dropping the ball while transferring to throw it...uglieee
