it is going to be a short World Cup. I don't have any idea why we have become so unorganized in the back here lately but it is getting to be pathetic.

Yup, we looked pathetic. Our goalie was cussin' mad and I can't blame him. Keystone cops back there.

You have your head in the sand and are not a true fan. The US is in nuclear winter and might as well stay home. This is all because Derrick Dooley can't recruit 5 star recruits and the US obviously will not go far vis-a-vis the dominoe effect of Derrick Dooley's poor recruiting. I predict that Donovan and Clint Dempsey will commit seppuku during the first ten seconds of the Australian match, women will no longer bare their breasts at the World Cup, the Kentucky Derby, and Mardis Gras, and John Calipari will go the straight and narrow in his coaching career up in Kensucky.
There is that more like AV?
Okay, let me rephrase my earlier statement: they looked like shit in the backfield in the first half. I didn't get to see much of the second except the two scores.

When I left the TV(USA down 1-0), I had two thoughts.. "We might as well save the damn trip to South Africa, and stay home." "I waited 4 years for this shit?? Now I have to wait another damn 4 years for USA to do something in World Cup?"
We should have won, we did win. We should have won the other night, but we didn't.
I am thinking this. England wins the group. Should go 3-0
Algeria should go 0-3. That leaves USA - Slovenia game as to who goes on in second place. A tie and goal differential and we could move on, but I would rather get the win. The kicker is (well I thought I heard that the Czechs lost to Slovenia and didn't get in the WC) and they drilled us last week. Now you don't know how you stand against Slovenia. You can only go on what is out there. Slov beat Czechs, Czechs beat USA(even though we "didn't really try" in that game.) If we had beat them, maybe I would feel better about the game with Slovenia. But right now I don't...

Man, the Czech game barely counts. I mean who the hell out of our starting lineup played?
I still think England should bring back the player with the greatest name in all of soccer...
David Seaman.
I heard Seaman was all over the field when he played for England.

Forgot to add Catherine Bell's USA photo for EV. She does her best to help the squad.

Bill Shankly was a great manager of Liverpool , he never managed Scotland although he did play for them 7 times :nono:

Hey now! I just found the quote on the intranets and saw he was from Scotland. That's all..
Shankly made his debut for Scotland in a 1-0 win against England in April 1938.That's all I care about.....

Czech game didn't bother me as we were filling out the roster but it was scary what Turkey was able to do for the first half and some of the second. They looked alot faster with the ball. Findley was able to cause some problems with his speed in the second half but doesn't have the decision making that Davies had at this point or touch but I will say he played a beautiful ball to Donovan for the first goal.
Torres needs to start. That guy can flat out play. I came away more pleased after this game but I wish we had 3 more games to get everything finalized.
