Lets hear your picks for the Masters, the lone caveat is that you can not pick Tiger Woods.

I'm going with the Vandy guy - Brent Snedeker. He surely won't blow it on Sunday like he did last year. He knows the course like the back of his hand. Placement course. Knows where to put the ball on the green. I'm psyching (sic) myself up.

Tiger is not automatic for the Masters. Long layoff may show this week....greens at Arnies place a lot easier to handle vs. AN. Also, at AN he does not automatically have 3/4 of the crowd shouting "you the man". Last two winners were short knockers...can't wait for the TV coverage.

I've picked him to win every major in the past 3 three or four years so no since in changing.
Oh, but Tiger wins.

I'll take another Danny... Danny Noonan.. With Carl Spackler carrying his bag...
Carl Spackler: "So I jump ship in Hong Kong and make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas. A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one - big hitter, the Lama - long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-galunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice."

How was Tiger's putting today? If that is what your wha wha wha is for, there it is. If it is for those that won the last two...they are considered short hitters. Perhaps I misunderstood your questions???

Immelman was 73rd on tour last season in average driving distance with 291.3 yds. per, that's not short. Zach Johnson is a different story.

That would mean 72 players hit it further...more than half the field bam. the long knockers are much longer.

My man didn't make the cut.
I taped all four rounds and usually watch these while walking the treadmill. However, the ending was so anti-climatic that I'm letting my better half tape over them. Hated to see Perry lose it!

UH...NO. Immelman was 72 out of 207 other tour players with enough rounds to qualify for that category for the SEASON, not the Masters.
So for this weekend Tiger had a 280.5 yds Ave. driving distance and Immelman was 280.12, so that makes Tiger a "short knocker" too I suppose.
Basically by your definition of "short knockers" if a player isn't in the top ten of ADD he's a short Knocker. That list last year would include Mickelson, Singh, Sergio, Harrington, Villegas, Ogilvy, AK, Els, and MANY other notable names. None of these names would be considered "short knockers" by anyone with any sense that follows PGA golf.
Last two winners were short knockers...can't wait for the TV coverage.
This statement is simply incorrect, as Immelman is NOT considered a "short knocker" maybe not the longest on tour but by no means short.

"None of these names would be considered "short knockers" by anyone with any sense that follows PGA golf."
I know you probably do not know this, but Tiger and Phil and some of the other guys you named do not hit driver on every hole to bring those averages down. So, Phil can move his three wood with more accuracy than the shorter (not short) knockers hit their drivers.
I do not have time to check your stats, but the two prior winners are not LONG ballers. Tiger, Garcia, Els, Mickelson, etc. are. These guys, when they move it, go 330 +. I find it suspect that Tiger has ever averaged 280 or thereabouts at AN
72 is average out of 200. Top 10 or 20 would be the longballers. Beyond that, I cannot help you.

None of the guys I listed were in the top 20 for ADD in 2008 except for AK, but I guess those guys used the 3w too much and it skewed their 3's. Singh was 27th, Harrington 31st, Mickelson 35th, Garcia 49th, and Els 72. Immelman was actually 73rd.
I know full well that PGA players don't always use drivers, in fact Tiger didn't use his every time on Sunday.
Tiger by round driving averages 274 288 272 288
Immelman's averages 297.5 275 267 281
I'm NOT saying that Immelman is neck and neck with Bubba Watson but he's not in the same category as a Justin Leonard, Weir, Mediate, or Zach Johnson either. I'll guarantee you if you ask all the players on tour if TI is a short knocker as compared to the rest of the field, NONE of them would he was.
