I'd like to go, but end up bass'n. Cherokee, the lake I fish 99% of the time is coming on as a crappie hole, Douglas is good. I never go to the 2 closest lakes to me, Patrick Henry or Boone. Patrick Henry is too small and full of trash and skiers, Boone is full of drunks and skiers. South Holston and Watauga are beautiful lakes, but a mite inconvienent for me. I have a Remington 1100 in the bottom of South Holston....dropped by a duck hunting buddy back in the '70's..a really funny story..shotgun replaced by his insurance (homeowners). It had a 'morals obligation' clause...

It's really hard to crappie fish when I have my bass stuff in the boat.

We caught 4 nice crappie while bass fishing on smaller spinnerbaits a coupla weeks back.

Havent heard any crappie stories but I dont get around much.

I used to crappie fish religiously, but ever since the Corps started fixing the dam at Center Hill, I haven't been in two years. They are keeping the water levels pretty low so its very hard to find structure and fallen trees are near impossible to find. I tried Dale Hollow last year but I don't really know the lake that well. I'm a plain ole tie up to a tree and use minnows crappie guy. I love it more than any other type of fishing.

Yep the good ole days. There for a time the crappie actually died out or so they said at Center Hill. TWRA said yrs ago that farmers had changed their fertilizer and it washed into the lake and killed the offspring. I dont know about all that but for about 10yrs you couldn't buy a crappie. They restocked with the black-nose crappie, but I've caught a white crappie or two over the last 3 or four yrs. It still isnt what it used to be; you are right we could fish and catch 30+ in one spot. Not anymore:(
