CLK, Jim Chaney, Cregg and Mitch Browning know exactly what they are looking for in potential offensive tackle recruits. If you've read the story posted in another thread where Randy Moore dissed the hell out of Tennessee's offensive lines, starting with the lumbering '05 bunch, then you will quickly understand the list below. This is Scout's current list of offensive tackles being recruited by this staff. Long, lean, athletic, not a friggin 300 pounder in the bunch!!

I thnk the trend is going to be toward lighter, more athletic offensive linemen. Thats one of the reasons Daniel Hood makes sense at 255. You can make a guy like that into anything you want.

...were fun to watch....and I think Browning had a lot to do with that as the O-line coach. They were usually highly ranked in rushing stats, as I remember. I do know they chewed up a Joe Kines coached defense at Alabama in the Music City Bowl one year.

The Vols zone blocking scheme is all about blocking downhill, meaning that the linemen have to have the athletic ability and quickness to move off of initial blocks to the next level down the field.

Watch any UT blocking schemes from the past several season.....how often did we see our linemen down the field blocking someone? Our guys were getting destroyed at the line of scrimmage.

to get downfield to block. They were just supposed to follow the play and recover the fumbles! :biglaugh::biglaugh:

We had at least three stud offensive linemen that visited the scrimmage today. The beef is a comin'

I'm assuming you've watched the film? Because such a statement would not be possible  without having had the benefit of the film...
