Killed one. Dont see what all the fuss is about.

It's actually pretty easy. All you need is a buddy with a son that hunts a lot.

First of all I have no Turkey gear. My shotguns are so old they only have 2 3/4" chambers.

So I wear a green pair of pants and long sleeve t shirt and my buddies son gives me these sniper like clothes to put on over em. I do have camo rubber boots. As I am pulling this stuff on as we are standing at the truck I say "There's a turkey" as I hear it gobbling in the distance.

He hands me his gun that has a 3 1/2" chamber and the 3 of us walk about 120 yards and he sit me and his dad in 2 different places. This like 6:10 or so he starts calling and like 10 minutes later a turkey struts up and I shoot it. End of story. Sort of

be sure to pressure wash it first(just kiddin, joke between tnphil & I). Turkey hunting can be over quick and easy like it was for you, or extremely frustrating.
Congratulations ....are you hooked?

I'll probably go back. I really dont have much time to hunt right now but it's interesting.

I full well realize I was lucky to get a shot. He took his dad and he killed one the day before in mid day. The darned thing saw one of us and turned and I barely got a shot off. His dad and I joke about how easy turkey hunting is but we know better. We grew up in a time when there were no Deer or Turkeys in the area. Good to see such a population now.

The boy can flat call a turkey.
