Good QB report by Jim Chaney, and one more theft from Columbia.

New Addition: UT announced that Steve Gortmaker has joined the staff as men's associate strength and conditioning coach. Gortmaker comes to UT after four seasons at South Carolina. He also coached at Oklahoma, Western Kentucky and Kansas.

"It's great to have Steve on board with us," UT head football strength and conditioning coach Mark Smith, who was at South Carolina last season, said in a UT release. "We've been together for a long time. He knows the type of program I run, so I can really count on him. He knows exactly what I want done, and I'm really excited to have him on board."

Sorry Steve.

Beginning to think Nick Stephens may be our only hope. JC is looking like we all knew he would, and that's before today's scrimmage and the O&W game. I had hopes for BJ but he has not looked better - so Nick may be our only hope. Go Nick!

It sounds like all of our quarterbacks are what we thought they were. We are going to have to lean on the running game and not ask the qb to do too much because none of these guys are very accurate and it is a crap shoot when they throw the ball.

Coleman is a mystery. I thought he would surely have come on strong by now. What this tells me is that we don't have much to work with. It will be a couple of years before we even have a chance to have anything at qb and that is only if we bring in a stud this year.

I have a serious question here....I read on the other board that Crompton has all the "tools." Am I missing something here? What "tools" does he have?
I know he has some natural skill for the eradication of worms and gophers but what other "tools" does he possess? Could someone fill me in?

I think what they actually meant to say is Ruff Tuff is "an all-time tool!" Perhaps from the neck down he has the physical skills to play the position, but from the neck up he's just a square peg in a round hole kind of guy!
