Being reported on Rivals anyway. I wish we would go ahead and lock up Phillip Sims. We already have his teammate, Askew, coming in the fall. They need to press him for a commitment. These top QB's commit very early.

I think we'll get the guy we want by mid summer. IMO we will get Heaps or Sims, and possibly Christian Green. Wonder if we offer Bo Wallace as insurance?

Do you really think we can get Heaps? I would never count this staff out, but I feel like he is going to end up at Washington. We definitely need to get two good ones in this class.

Like you said..don't count this staff out. They won't even stop going after Bell even if he did commit to OU

Talk about it in The General's Quarters
Wheaton (Ill.) North junior quarterback prospect Taylor Graham (6-foot-4, 205 pounds) saw an unfortunate early end to his promising 2008 junior season last fall. Graham, the son of former standout college and NFL QB Kent Graham, has the look and the bloodlines to be a seriously talented prospects from the Land of Lincoln's Class of 2010 football recruiting class. Get to know this latest underclassmen to watch here.

Taylor Graham played in 4 1/2 games in his 2008 junior season for the Falcons.

"It wasn't exactly how I imagined my season going to be honest," Graham said. "I was able to play in four and a half games before I broke my ankle. I was in a walking boot until Thanksgiving and now I'm rehabbing it and my goal is to be back in time for basketball to help my team out."

Graham, who is the son for former standout college and NFL quarterback Kent Graham, talked about his recruiting news so far this winter.

"I've been getting quite a bit of mail from several schools. Iowa, Arizona, Michigan State, Indiana, Duke, UCLA and Tennessee are some of the schools who have sent me the most mail. I'm honestly pretty open when it comes to having any favorites, I grew up a big fan of Ohio State because of my Dad, but other than the Buckeyes I'm just looking to find a school that would hopefully be a great fit for me."

Graham admits that it's a huge advantage having someone at home to help him during his recruiting process in his Dad.

"It's a huge positive for me to have a Dad with all of that experience. He's someone who knows the in's and the out's and he's always has been my biggest supporter."

Graham is also serious when it comes to his academics.

"Academics are very important to me no question. Right now I have a 4.8 GPA (5.0 scale/honors track) and I'm thinking about majoring in either Economics or Business. I haven't taken the ACT just yet but I'll do that in the spring."

Off the field, Graham enjoys his time away from the field and the hardwood.

"I'm part of my church's youth group and I try to stay involved in that quite a bit. I also just like getting time to spend hanging out with my friends. I would say that my favorite NFL player these days would be Eli Manning. Eli took a lot of grief early in his career about not being as good as his brother, and I really admire how he handled all of that."

Kansas QB Blake Bell commits By Ahmard Vital
Sooners Illustrated
Posted Apr 3, 2009

As we continue to bring the Oklahoma fans recruiting coverage, there seems to be a new player in the fold. Check it out in this SI update.

In a recent interview with Bishop Carroll Catholic (KS) quarterback Blake Bell, the idea was to take multiple visits before making the call.

“After I take all of my visits, I’ll have a better idea about when I want to commit,” Bell said recently. “I’ll know more and narrow it down some. I don’t want to have to deal with it (recruiting) during my senior season.”

It seems as though there really wasn’t a narrow down process at all. In fact, it is apparent that Oklahoma had exactly what he was looking for. Before he could schedule and confirm the trips to Missouri, Kansas, Georgia, Tennessee, and Notre Dame, he went ahead and shut the process down with a commitment to the Sooners.

The 6-foot-6, 218-pound Bell had over 20 offers and had made a name for himself this past season throwing for 3,200 yards and 38 touchdowns. He also ran for more than 300 yards and had 12 rushing touchdowns after spending his sophomore season at wide out.

On the recruiting hunt for Bell was quarterbacks coach

CLK & Co will not let a little thing like a commitment to another school stop them from recruiting Bell. They will be in this kids ear right up until signing day.
