What/who was the best of the North American Soccer League?

I remember AJC sports editor Furman Bisher (who played soccer at Furman) writing about the Atlanta Chiefs beating Mancester City. Not bad. What were other significant wins by NASL teams over European sides?

Who were the best players in the NASL? The MLS might be (slightly) more stable, but the NASL brought in players that the MLS could only dream of.

Edit: How good was Sewanee grad Kyle Rote, Jr., in the league?

Yeah the old NASL had Pele at the Cosmos and i think i remember George Best playing in the NASL for a short time :box2: :wife:
