I fish Norris, Melton Hill, Douglass, and Watts Bar mostly. Little known bass lake is Cove Lake in Jacksboro. You can't use private boats since it a state park lake. You gotta rent their little aluminum john boats. You can paddle them or bring your own battery and trolling motor. It is a small lake and you can go all over it fairly quick, but damn there are some nice largemouth in there. I have caught several that were 5 pounds plus, and one of my friends son caught an eight pounder a few years back. Lots of bluegill and crappie too. Best thing about it is you don't have to deal with all the jet skis and pleasure boaters, and it only costs like 12 bucks to rent a boat for all day.

I fish Fort Loudon a lot. Occasionally Tellico and Douglas. I didn't know you could fish from a boat at Cove Lake. I have been there a couple of times for picnics.

Sure can. Some of the most peaceful fishing you will ever do. Lots of trees fallen all around the shoreline and no jackasses on jetskis buzzing around you all day. Just bring a trolling motor and battery and you are all set. You can do this on Big Ridge lake too.

The only trolling motor I have is mounted on my boat. But I might try it some day.

Here is the one I bought specifically for Cove Lake.

You can get one cheaper if you catch them on sale. Or you could pick one up in the classifieds or at a pawn shop. I think I gave $99 for mine new. One of these is all you need.
