I mostly deer and turkey hunt. Used to shoot competition trap, gave it up when daughter was born. Finally sold my Citori last year, bought a TC Pro Hunter, started reloading and shooting. Daughter shoots and helps reload. That'll stop, shes nearly 22 getting serious with BF., but for now shes my shootin and fishin partner.

Just me. I reload 9mm, 38 special, 357, 45 Long Colt, 257 Roberts & RA Improved, 270, 7mm Rem Mag, & 300 Wby Mag. Later I'm gonna add 25-06, 243 and probably 30-06. Maybe 30-30.

I'll check back with myself later.

It sounds like you have some serious ballistics knowledge sg. I am thinking of getting a good dual purpose rifle that I can use for both deer and coyotes. Should I go with the .257 or should I opt for the xtra power of the 25-06. How much more recoil am I gonna get from the 06?

The 257 is a bit underpowered by the manufacturers. The SAAMI specs call for low pressure loads in the factory 257 roberts. The 257 Ackley Improved which is a wildcat cartridge, (can't buy ammo specifically for it) can reach higher velocities by shooting the regular 257 Roberts ammo and blowing out the case shoulder to a different angle, then reloading, giving more room inside the case for powder. It's not dangerous, but sounds like it is.
My brother in law built one, and I work up his ammo.
In my opinion, the 25-06 pretty much killed the 257. Lots of people still fond of the "bob", but the 25-06 is what it was meant to be. I have an 25-06 Ultra Hunter by NEF. It is a single shot, but a tackdriver. I would go for sure with the 25-06, recoil is minimal. (I weigh about 130 pounds on a good day and shoot a weatherby 300 mag, in fact love the magnum cartridges.)
If recoil is a concern, get a Thompson Center Pro Hunter. The stock is a flex stock, has some energy absorbing pads in it and an extra heavy Simms recoil pad. I have it in 7mm Rem Mag, love it. It is a single shot tho.
Here is a recoil table you can look at:http://www.chuckhawks.com/recoil_table.htm

Bullet are the same available for 257 and 25-06, same caliber. 25-06 more case capacity for powder, so more energy and velocity can be produced.
Happy to answer more questions, if I can't, I have buddies that can.

Thanks, I am really torn between getting one all purpose rifle and buying a 7mm mag and a 22 250. Speaking of manufacturers, what do you know about the Blaser R93? I love the notion of having one rifle with interchangeable calibers.

R93 is sweet, but way outta my price range. Great to have interchangeable barrels in a bolt action rifle. Haven't had my hands on one.
The Encore Pro Hunter like I have is available in a wide range of barrels, blued and stainless, stocks wood, synthetic black and camo.
I would prefer one for varmits and one for deer, just because of the energy requirements. I have killed deer with 25-06, but I prefer a little more power for bigger bones. We have a few hogs up here too, and I would rather put them down quick. For big game, I really prefer 270 or better.
