Kiffin probably offered him 175K to come to UT and Garza didn't think about the fact that with taxes he would be better off in Knoxville.

He already has 1 strike in the coaching profession with his DUI at TCU. Now he opacks his bags in the middle of the night to chase The Lying Punk across the country? One would think that this wouldn't go over too well the next time he is looking for a job and coaches move around every few years so this just may bite him in the ass down the road.

That's exactly right. Whenever the next team that is thinking about hiring does their due dilligence and calls us for a reference we tell them how he fucked us.
But the one thing that is beginning to become clear is that these guys think Kiffin is a better and more stable leader than Dooley. They are in the best position to make an informed decision and so far all of the reviews have been negative. Couple that with the unwillingness of coaches to hire on and you have to start to wonder about things.
Say what you want about Kiffin but the coaches he brought in are head and shoulders above the ones we are looking at now. Hopefully the season will prove me wrong but so far I am underwhelmed.

Sorry BV2, I was a little pissed about all of this, didn't mean to be a dick. Gentleman Jack settled me down.

I don't think we know if Dooley wanted him gone and/or if the plan all along was to get him fired so that UT would have to pay his salary at USC his first year. Even if he wanted to stay who's to say that Dooley didn't advise him to look around because he would probably be replaced at the first opportunity (read: as soon as he could be fired without costing the school too much money or as soon as a booster stepped up to pay his severance pay, whichever came first). My theory is that Kiffin planned to bring him out there all along and just hoped to get him on the cheap with UT firing him, sort of like he did with Cregg and Reaves.
