just curious. Why the hell don't these coaching contracts have huge-ass penalties? Stupid.

Generally, regardless of vocation, if you go to work for a direct competitor, your ass is immediately out the door and your stuff will be fwd'ed to you.
That's why your office should be easily broken down within 10 minutes. 5 preferrably.

Garza may be the most ungrateful of them all. He was fired at TCU for drunken driving conviction and another stop that was not prosecuted. He was stuck all the way up in the Dakotas and Hammy agreed to allow Lame to hire him and give him another shot at the big time.
So what does he do, crawl out in the middle of the night? This story is going to be interesting. Not going to really blast Garza until full truth of the situation is disclosed.

I don't really give a damn. But, these contracts are hilarious.
This coaching circus is a riot. These guys aren't worth that much, just tickles me, they've all taken the ADs to the cleaners. NCAA don't care, fans will pay it.

About losing Garza. In fact, it might just be a blessing in disguise.
Head coach changes causes people to leave. In fact, this might just be exactly what Coach Dooley desired.
Sure, it might cost us a kid or two in recruiting. So I wish that Garza had stayed until signing day. But reading the tea leaves, CDD hiring a defensive backs coach didn't bode well for Garza.
Maybe he figured his time was up.
