GOOD.

It used to be like this years ago, till like the late 80s, perhaps, when guests complained about UT having an unfair advantage at home, meaning, the sun getting in visitors' eyes on the sidelines. Riverset can prob answer the question more precisely, but IIRC, that's why.

Stupid. and it's good to be back on the shady side of the street. Shady as in sun, not as in Kiffin.

I had season tickets durning those years..best I remember it was some rule about having the student section behind the visitors bench...so instead of moving the student section they moved our bench to that sideline....

Everyone in our section was wondering if the team would run to the wrong sideline running through the T the first time after the change...

Didn't they call that the Florida rule when the benches were changed as all the teams that went down there were harrassed by the students

I would put the students about 10 rows deep in that South Endzone. Pretty crappy seats so you would think that those displaced from there to where the students now are, would be happy. But also would make it interesting on Goal Line stands for us in the endzone with the students lining that endzone for 10 rows up.

Section 0, row 3. Great seats that we've had for over 22 years. Sure you can't see all that well when the players are in the North End Zone, but damned if it ain't up close and personal from mid-field in. I love these seats...and would hate to be where the students are now. There's just something to being right on the field that we love.

I can't speak for anyone but myself, of course. Just saying that not everyone would be happy with that move.

moving the students to the end zone. UT does the worst job of any school I know in locating students for football and basketball. Almighty dollar, I presume. Can't wait for the complaints next year that the students don't show up.

As much as I love Hammy, most of his moves have not been student friendly....although he inherited the basketball seating.

Ever been to Auburn?

Their student section is laid out somewhat similarly to what Neyland will be next year...the students are more or less "beside" the visitors bench, and the home team is on the opposite sideline.
